Hi
I've been thinking of launching a wso on this forum for a long time. Now that my product is finally coming together, I was wondering if any of you had any tips on how I should go about launching it? If any of you has ever launched a successful (or not so successful) wso before, I would like to hear your thoughts on what to do and what not to do.
Thanks

    Have an excellent product
Build credibility by having a history of contributing to the community
Have at least a dozen good reviews
Have some influential affiliates with either Warrior Plus or JVZoo
    Have an excellent sales letter
Have an offer that appeals to the people here
    Have it priced right

Those are just a few of the things you need

This explains pretty much everything. Though the affiliate part can be tough at the beginning stages, but with couple of good launches you are on track in getting top affiliates, provided your product delivers whats stated in the sales letter...

Yes, especially when you're not well known here, I think.

The idea of a WSO is that you're offering to your fellow-Warriors, who know and trust you, a discount. It's a "special offer". That's what the "S" and the "O" stand for.

With very few exceptions, I think the major determinant of sales numbers is the seller's credibility, based on what they've contributed and how they've interacted here. One of the posters above summed up that point neatly ...

^^ This is pretty much what will separate the men from the boys. Honestly, get your credibility up first and foremost then conduct thorough research into IM and work out some of the problems the community are currently having then provide them with a quality solution - that being the product.

Quick Tip: You do not need to even look that hard - its right in front of you! The amount of threads I see are mostly individuals desperate for solutions. That's where you come in!

Just focus on giving value to the forum for the time being and become a familiar face. Then once you've managed to establish yourself enough give out some review copies to some recognized warriors and let them critique your work. If given the green lights - get launching your product! Try get some JV's on-board, purchase banner ads, solo ads... I mean go crazy with this shizz man. This is where your creative side comes into play (my favorite part of IM )

Hopefully overtime your product will generate more reviews from fellow warriors of which you could use as testimonials to sell outside of this forum and onto other platforms like JVzoo, Clickbank blah blah blah. You get the idea.

Recruit your army of affiliates and then get yourself a nice treat and plan your next launch. But this time you've got yourself a BUYERS list to give extra momentum. It's really all a snowball effect to be honest- its going to take a good amount of elbow-grease to get the ball rolling, but hey..that's business!

Make sure your sales page is very catchy and price is very low (if its a product).

Also you can give away some bonus to attract customers.

^^^This is a myth. Your price doesn't need to be very low. It needs to reflect the value of your offering.

Why would you generalize everything as needing to be low priced?

Gotta disagree on this one. Price definitely doesn't need to be low...maybe you meant lower than what it's selling for everywhere else.

Make sure you tested your product and have success with it. A lot of people launching useless wso and wanted other people to put their impossible dreams into reality.

one of the best tips would be to try and build a pre launch list

also try to make your product as good as possible and try to focus on getting a half decent EPC
otherwise your not going to pick up many affiliates

the pre launch list is not solely responsible for the success of your wso but it certainly helps to get the ball rolling if you can make a fair few sales yourself first

This worries me - it sounds like you're making a product just to sell it as a WSO.

This is NOT the purpose of the WSO section and you will be disappointed if you think it is.

Do you think this is a bad way to approach things? Yes, I do intend to sell my product solely as a wso. Is that a bad idea? Why?

The WSO section is supposed to be there for people to offer a special price to warriors for a product they're selling elsewhere and that warriors get a better price than the public can get.

It's not supposed to be just a market place for any old product people want to crank out.

Also - if you can only sell to people in this forum and this forum closes - your business is dead.

AFFILIATES!!!!!!!! You will need affiliates. Plain and simple. There have been a ton of great ideas for you, but make sure that you get affiliates.

Also with regards to review copies. Make sure that you mark what you give out so that you can track where they end up. Make sure that people who you give review copies to are of great standing in the community or you will find it on a ton of black hat sites. Protect your investment. Sorry about the double post it has been a while.

Also - most people will NOT actually provide a review, so don't assume if you give 10 review copies you'll get 10 reviews.

^^ This is the unfortunate truth. You win some, you lose some.

If things go a bit quiet then try following up on them - this might do nothing but hey it's worth a shot.

That is very true. I ask people who I have seen a lot of and, even talked to on a couple occasions. People you see often take there business seriously, and most do the same with you business when you take it seriously yourself.

Isn't that the case with a lot of WSO peddlers?

Not a bad idea, but like the rest of the gold diggers you've been lured here by tales of instant success.

Well first, make sure your product and offer are outstanding.

Then my second thought is on review copies. I've never launched a WSO, but I'd imagine review copies can help you a lot. I'd give out a lot of them if it were me. But I wouldn't give them out all in 1 day.

Every time you give out a copy, thats like a $40 "bump" for your thread. But again, there may be rules against this, I've never launched a WSO, but I'm just trying to think creatively here. I'd hand them out every time my thread got low, and hope for positive reviews/bumping to get them more exposure/sales.

There are also prelist launches, joint ventures, god.. I'd imagine you could go crazy with promotion if you really wanted to.

The most important thing though is really test your product & offer. When you hand out your review copies, do it in stages. One round as a testing stage, to get good feedback, and improve your WSO/address problems. Then another round of review copies for promotion. I'd imagine there comes a point though where if you give out too many review copies, you decrease the value of what you're actually promoting.

So again, make sure the sales copy is good, and I'd honestly target a higher price range than a lower one. I wouldn't waste my time making some general/crappy product, so I could sell it for $10 a pop. Thats what everyone does. Making sales is about differentiation and positioning. Make sure the information you're giving out is new, make sure its innovative in some way, make sure your offer is solid, get lots of feedback first, THEN launch your WSO.

Or so thats how I'd do it. Threads are also a great way to get attention. But they shouldn't be used to sell anything. They should be used to give out outstanding advice for free that can help people towards the results you promise in the WSO. Real world information, not useless hype and fluff. Most of all, if your system works, and its something you're really passionate about, I think that will show through more than anything. You need that confidence, because people will sense it through anything you do, and ideally, they'll buy your WSO. Bob Ross was a great example of this. The only WSO I ever bought, only reason I bought it was the IMMENSE level of passion he conveyed to people on this forum. I mean FFS, the guy owns his own forum now centered around that 1 WSO. If anyone knows how to launch WSOs, its that guy.

Set up your product with warrior plus and spend time recruiting affiliates for your launch. This can really bring your launch to whole new level when you have a strong army of affiliates mailing to their lists for you.

There are also a lot of groups on Facebook that will help you establish affiliate relationships and get your launch up and going where you want it to be.

Now I know where the PM came from

One thing that a lot of WSO newbs do is set commissions really low and that's not going to attract good affiliates. Not that setting a commission high is going to attract good ones in the first place, but if you're commish is low it won't even attract them. I would suggest 75% to 100%

I've not launched a WSO, however I have launched a number of products and services elsewhere. One thing that no one has mentioned is Amazing Customer Service ! Once you launch and sell, your customers deserve excellent, responsive customer service... news tends to spread quickly about this (both good and bad)... if your thread starts filling up with "no one answered my support tickets" type of posts, your sales go in the tank quickly. However, many people "on the fence" will purchase, soley because of great customer service comments.

Following through with your customers and going the extra mile to be helpful brings in countless additional buyers !

I personally feel if you have the right product which really solves some problem, everything else automatically becomes easy. Let the product make people decide on buying instead of the sales copy. I have nothing against sales copies but I think product should be given greater priority.

But, beware. I have not launched a single WSO yet (although helped few people doing so since I am PHP Programmer). Just thought would share my views.
