Successful Paid Newsletters

I am considering the launch of a paid subscription newsletter in the next few months. However I am asking myself if anyone would ever pay for something like that? I would never pay for a subscription newsletter in a million years but my friends do say I am cheap. I was going to offer a free ebook when people sign up for the first month but my concern is who would even be willing to sign up.

Has anyone had success with this business model or is there a better alternative?

People will pay for anything if there is value. Do you know enough about whatever topic for people to continue paying for it month after month. Getting them on the list is one thing but keeping them on the list makes the business viable.

I certainly believe so. I have had articles published on a well known website in the niche and I am in the process of getting my ebook on the subject published on Amazon and iTunes. I didn't know if it was possible to get a few hundred subscribers and if there was perhaps a better alternative.

You are perfectly within your rights to try a monthly subscription. Out of interest, what is wrong with the usual monetization strategies that most IM's use? reviews, affiliate links etc..

I want something that provides recurring revenue. My subject matter is related to stocks and investing. There isn't much in terms of affiliates and product reviews in this subject. I have yet to find affiliate info for brokerage firms. My concern is that no matter how good my newsletter is someone can get the same thing just as good for free. However I do know that successful finance newsletters exist so I have hope.

I'm pretty sure Clickbank has a whole section for this though I'm ignorant about the quality of the products. You will have a better idea than I will.
