Domain Name Registration Notice from China

I run an affiliate marketing site and just received a Domain Name Registration Notice from what seems to be a legit address in China (CN Patent & Trademark Office LLC) saying:

"We are the organization of trademark intellectual property protection in China. Here we have something to confirm with you. We received a formal application on 12th October, 2012. A company named "BUE Industry Co, Ltd." was applying to register "[a domain name I am using]" as its Internet Brand and the following domain names:

[a domain name I am using].asia
[a domain name I am using].cn
[a domain name I am using].cn
[a domain name I am using].tw
[a domain name I am using].hk
[a domain name I am using].net.cn
[a domain name I am using].org.cn
[a domain name I am using].tw

After our initial checking, we found the names were similar to your company's, so we need to check with you whether BUE Industry Co, Ltd. has any relationship with you and whether the registration of the listed domains by BUE Industry Co, Ltd. would bring any impact on you. If no impact on you, we will go on with the registration at once. If you have no relationship with that company and the registration would bring some impact on you, please inform us within 10 workdays. Out of the time prescribed we will unconditionally finish the registration for BUE Industry Co, Ltd.

Please contact us in time in order that we can handle this issue better"

This "BUE Industry Co, Ltd." has no Google results. Thoughts??

I get this notice once or twice every time I register a domain that gets indexed by Google. They are simply trying to sell you foreign domain names..acting as a broker. Just a different way to spam. I ignore the emails and they stop. Whatever you do don't reply to the email, that only allows them to qualify your email as valid and you'll receive more spam in the future/

    Yeah dude sounds shady.

Reply and say you'll accept no less than $500,000 for the domain in question.

    Have a little fun.

PS: if they give it to you, I want a 10% brokerage fee. Just sayin.

Easy to ignore ANY email, if someone needs to contact you officially it has to be done by real mail, otherwise electronic mail can be ignored totally.
Especially if it comes from any countries such as china :-)

No legitimate registrar EVER checks to see if variations of a domain name have already been registered and then contacts the owner BEFORE selling another version.

Think of Namecheap, for example. You enter the domain you want to buy. It tells you which are available and which are already taken. They will then happily sell you anything that isn't already registered. It's none of their business who owns the others. It's not their business to find out if a name has been trademarked.

The "department of asian domain registrations in China" simply want to sell you a stack of useless domain names.

Until a couple of weeks ago it was the most popular post on my antiscam blog - and remains the most commented on post. Asian Domain registration service in china « Keep Safe On The Net

Hi, I have received a couple of these. Their "trick" is to get you to register the country domains thru them so that you "don't lose the domains to others".
