Well I thought about Internet marketing back in 2001 and due to some dodgy sites made the decision that people online are just a bunch of crooks so I decided to slog away at my job. 2009 at which time I was living in UK I decided to attend a 3 day Andrew Reynolds conference. Returning from the conference I was all fired up and in my dreams I was already living in a mansion. After another 6 months of researching I decided to go for it and in my excitement bought about 25 domain names. Then came the crunch I had no idea how to set up a website, I still don't. I am ashamed to say that after a day of trying I gave up the thought of even trying.

I know now that I shouldn't have given up and success only comes after failure. So now that I have decided to do IM and not give up, am I too late to share a little bit of the internet and make a decent living. It seems the internet is so saturated and any niche has already got loads of blogs and websites. Have I missed the boat?

No you haven`t missed the boat. Million of people go online every day and some great opportunities appear once in a while and success is the matter of the right place in the right time. Of course there is much more competition than it was 10 years ago and you should work hard to reach your goals.

Your words, "I am ashamed to say that after a day of trying I gave up the thought of even trying." That statement defines why people never see success with online marketing. Some marketers go years without seeing a penny. How bad do you want it? Prove it with your actions. Stick to one thing until you see profit and then scale it up.

All these replies are great advice.

I would also add that you should get involved in a niche that you are seriously interested in. I say this because there will be roadblocks (learning curve) that you must endure.

If you have a serious interest in your chosen niche it will makes it MUCH easier to keep moving forward when you're not getting immediate results. Good luck Sofia!

IMO, Internet marketing is still at an early stage. I believe that the Internet will continue to grow as kids are growing up in the technology age. So no, I don't think you're "too late."

What I would advise, is thinking innovatively. Yes, most niches are currently being marketed to. But, what can you do to satisfy additional needs or improve products that already exist in the niche?

You definitely are not too late. I just started and have been inspired by others who have been successful in a short period of time. Put in the work, get a mentor, and if you can't figure out how to put together a website outsource it.

All niches are saturated. Stand out by providing great content and a better marketing plan. Know the ins and outs of what you are selling. Go the extra mile to answer questions about what you are selling.

Of course you are not too late Sofia, the Internet is still in its infancy...you aint seen nothing yet.

The opportunities that you passed up back in 2001 were much more newbie friendly than what today's newbies are walking into. I wouldn't say you've missed the boat, but the learning curve and competition is a lot to deal with now if you want to turn this into something more than a little hobby.

If you've been flirting with this since 2001, now is probably a good time to finally give it a go. It's likely your last chance with the bar of entry going up each year. I envision the competition being too nasty for the common newbie in five years. It's bad now, but should still be manageable if you are willing to put the work into it.

No, it's never too late for an action taker. As long as people have problems they want solved, you can become a successful marketer. Just pick a problem that you can solve or for which you can find a solution. Either make a report or a video telling them how to solve the problem. Then get your solution (product) in front of them. If your solution helps them (or if they think it can) and the price is reasonable, you will make money. Just make sure you add your buyers to a list. Then you can continue sending them interesting offers, and they will keep buying from you.

Once you know the process, you can do it over and over. You can create membership sites. You can do PLRs or Webinars. The possibilities are endless.

If you think it's too late, it is.

You need to change your mindset and think of only abundance. I personally think now is the best time to market online, the world will always flow and new products are created everyday. Some fail some make millions.

I started as an auto mechanic. Back in late 2009 knowing nothing at all about marketing, site building, product creation etc.. I have gone out and built 2 quarter million dollar a year websites within my first 18 months online.

Get your mind right, make goals, write them out, read them daily and take action DAILY towards your goals.

    To The TOP Sophia!

    1. Start with niche you are passionate about and know something about it.
    2. Buy a domain name like ethicalveganism ............
    3. Select product in that niche from CB, Amazon, CJ and more...
    4. Hire content writer .
    5. Hire simple WP site designer like me.
    6. Start doing link building.

Use Goog keyword tool in step 3 as a keyword research.

    Thank you
This is what I know....baby IMer.

First find out what your good at in relation to internet marketing and then offer to help an already successful marketer with their business. You may not be able to build websites but if you`re good at writing content then you can offer for write content for them. Eventually you`ll build relationships where they`ll feel the need to reciprocate. It won`t be long before you start to learn the ins and outs of internet marketing.

Mate, you are definitely not to late.

I started my online experience just a year ago. I have no income though...the only money I made was 2.5 $ in Amazon and 11 $ with google adsense...
