Product quality IS marketing

I believe passionately in my products and the high quality I provide my customers. That is the foundation for all my marketing. That passion should be the foundation for anyone in marketing. You must truly believe in your product and its ability to satisfy your customers if you are going to succeed in marketing.

- Donald Trump

Perhaps a lot of people only think of marketing as advertising, copy, product launches, etc., but the product and its quality are also a big part of marketing.

It's easy to sell something with a bunch of hype but what carries the product into the future is it's quality.

You can offer something just good enough at a really good price.

You can sell a bad product with good marketing, but it's hard to sell a great product with bad marketing.

Having said this, I strive for the great products, because if you get the marketing right... Wow.

I totally agree. Both aspects are very important to a long term business.

This is true. My business is thriving proof of this. I have not spent one dime on advertising for Concept To Completion Website Video Marketing Solutions in two years. Besides organic traffic, the entire business has been referral because of the quality of the product. People love sharing my product with others as it has tangible, long lasting value and increases their lead or sales conversions instantly.

Smart marketers are pretty affluent and instantly recognize this. I will add that having a product that is of great quality also attracts highly affluent and like-minded customers.

When I first got online, I completely missed this and while I still made good money when I started out, I had to hussle everyday to make the money because the quality of the product and marketing system was VERY sub-par, so I had to "sell and persuade" in ways that were VERY short term and had no long standing value, especially when not even hitting the right market (think direct sales and network marketing with products that don't match the market).

Anyhow, great post and replies in this thread....

Geez, what do you expect Trump to say in public, that quality doesn't matter?

I've had jobs in the past selling bad products. Even though I made money, I hated the jobs and it was really hard work.

It took a while, but I finally wised-up and figured out that I can make my life much easier by picking quality products to promote (I'm talking about affiliate marketing here).

It's also a lot easier to write articles and reviews about good quality products (and I don't feel all slimey afterward!)

It's even better if you don't have to "believe in" your product because you know from the overwhelming feedback of your clients that's it's genuinely fantastic.

Constantly getting feedback from your clients, improving the quality of your product and finding areas you missed that allow you to create other products are HUGE keys to great marketing.

And having a truly great product makes it so much easier to find affiliates who will promote your product and to make back end sales to people who buy from you.

    Kindest regards,

I have found as the market gets more competitive, having a quality product and an innovative product (or one that has some highly creative yet effective bonuses or delivery systems) can really help as well.

If folks can have a great experience while experiencing great results, its an unstoppable combination.

And there are so many tools available now or coming down the pipeline that will allow you to really blast your products out of the park if you are willing to take the time to play with them.

I really agree with this post!

Quality is marketing. Think of it like this... if you were to go to a job interview, part of your marketing plan would be for you to be on your "A game". If the quality of "you" is not up to par, you won't sell yourself very well.

With all of the automated tools that marketers use to create products these days, a lot of people are more concerned with the quick buck... instead of the long haul.

Quality is what keeps people coming back...

Also if the quality is not there, people won't care what they paid (even if it was cheap); they just want a refund.

They may, of course, decide it's not worth pursuing and say "you get what you pay for"... but then they're less likely to invest in something else that might be top-notch, because they're once-bitten, twice shy.

Marketers often talk about "perceived value" of the product when they're better off making sure there's REAL value there (this also starts getting into a universal law which says you can't reap rewards without giving value first; but it's probably not where this particular thread was heading!) ;-)

      cheers
      Heather
