Can someone explain this to me?

Okay, I just don't get the appeal of Twitter. Why do I care what people are doing at every second of the day? Why do they care what I am doing? I just don't get it.

Once a week I can see. Something interesting enough to tweet about is bound to happen at least once a week. How much traffic does it bring? Does it even seem worth the trouble of tweeting. Oh, and I'm not just asking what the appeal is from a marketing standpoint. I mean in general, for people who just use Twitter for fun. I just don't get it.

Ok, this gets asked every so often... some people see it as a great tool to just add to their buzz, others consider it an annoyance while people are just being lined up like fish in a barrel for big corporations to advertise to them eventually.

Anyways, try using the search feature.... here's another post with a cool use for Twitter, for example.

I think it has to do with the younger generation's fascination with being "connected". They're text messaging each other so intently that I heard about 1 teen being run over by a car because he/she (I don't remember their gender) was busy texting while crossing the street. So I guess the allure is they get to check in every second and see what's going on and then they can text each other about it.

Twitter is like Marmite - you either love it or you hate it!!

Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with the "younger generation" and it is the sort of thing that you certainly don't need to be "on every second of the day".

I like it - it helps me connect with friends/customers/prospects and keeps me up to date with what I want - it has also been known to help me generate sales.

Like most things - not everyone will get it - but then it's not a case of "must have" - there is a choice

    Just my thoughts . . . .
