Hey everyone,

I haven't been on this forum for a while because i was doing decent for a while but know i don't whats going on.

In January I joined this forum and learned about bum marketing i just followed the steps wrote the articles ... squidoo lens... to the sales page I wasn't making a ton of money like 3 or 4 sales a week for about the last month and a half which came out to be from 70-95 dollars a week which i was very satisfied with.

But the last two weeks I have only gotten 1 sale so i decided this week to write more articles then usual and submit all of them but still only one sale this week maybe those new articles haven't had time to get put into the SE or maybe the niche im in is dieing please give me your thoughts.

How long has your website been up and how long have you been writing articles, etc.. for your site?

Are you promoting Clickbank products? There have been a lot of threads on here recently talking about problems with Clickbank, saying that they are not getting credit for sales they made.

Also - maybe the products that you are promoting are losing popularity for whatever reason - newer products have come along to replace them? They're outdated? Or perhaps there is too much competition from other affiliates?

So you might want to look at promoting different products as well.

Have you been doing steady promotion, steady article writing? Has your traffic gone up or down? Maybe you took some time off or slack a little and your traffic slowed down? Are you sending the same amount of traffic to the products your selling?

        Thanks
I can't see why posting here would hurt, if anything, it should help as it's back links from a big highly popular authority site. Even if there was something wrong with links from here, they are incoming links to your site, which should not hurt your site.

Seems to be something else going on. Maybe other sites are doing better SEO/linkbuilding than your site? Do you track your keyword ranks, are they all going down? Limited info, so it's hard to say or give a clue.

Sounds like the double whammy of the slow down in you marketing and possibly increasing competition. The competition factor should be fairly straight-forward to check out. If it's increasing, that could actually be a good signal for you. Find out "who is doing what" with your keyword phrase and redouble your promotional efforts. If the market is saturated, move on to another product.

You are making this work at home stuff way harder than it is. Ready for some sanity? Clear your head and start over.

Last year in 08 I was on the first page of Google for my keywords. Then, do to a family emergency I stopped all marketing of the site for about 5 months and it fell down the SE ladder. So, I dropped to the 3rd page of Google. I just started back on the marketing of the site last month and it has even fallen down the SEs even more. I'm now currently on the 5th page of Google.

No sales in the last 3 weeks, when I usually average about 30 personal sales and 25 affiliate sales. I haven't had either one in a while now.

Also, there is only one keyword phrase that I target too, but it is definitely saturated.

            Let me know.

I think you just answered your own question.

You took time off and stopped promoting. I see so many marketers talk about set-it-and-forget it, sure does not apply to search engine ranks. There will always be fresher content than yours and there will always be competition working when you are not. Plus as you've mentioned, if the keyword phrase is that saturated, you probably have many people working to grab your spots.

I think you can get to a place where your ranks stabilize, with enough back links and proper SEO, but nothing lasts forever and there is always going to be others working on getting the same ranks and traffic.

I think the only way to keep up there is if you have some viral promotion that keeps building your work, but that's tough to do. Just my opinion.

Also, why are you targeting only one keyphrase? Kinda putting all your eggs in one basket, no? Has to be at least some long tail ones you could go after.

Dropping sales? Get used to it. People are slamming their wallets shuts in fear of this economy. My sales bottomed when good ole George W Bush said we were in a recession...but they're slowly getting back.
