Blogging: To protect content or not to protect?

Guys I am in a dilemma, I feel like there are some people who just come to feed off of my blog and am now feel like restricting access to my content by making it a membership site with different levels including a free level one which allows subscribers access to the free blog posts and two paid levels granting access to course content.

Question is, is this a good or bad idea?

Thanks in advance.

Bad. If they must pay, they'll go somewhere else for the info.

Unless it's one of a kind info and you have a really good rep.

if the content is something you are willing to sell then surely you must setup a membership site. If you are creating this content just to drive traffic then don't put them in your members area, load it on your blog right away...
