Question For Internet Marketers

As a newbie in Affiliate Marketing I would like someone to clear up an issue that puzzles me. When you are advertising company products through your site for a commission, what stops your prospective customer from going directly to the product site? My stats indicate that my site receives lots of traffic but no sales.

Many people begin an Internet search with keywords as opposed to typing in a merchant's name directly. You have an opportunity to capture some of that traffic.

If you're not getting sales, take a look at how well you're preselling the product, whether you need to include more (or less) info to make them ready to buy, do you have a call to action, does your page look professional (that means well formatted, no typos!), have you made it easy for visitors to find the right links, etc. There are lots of other possibilities, but that's a start.

People often research products before they buy. Your site acts as a preview/presell/review/etc that gets the user to click your link and go to the sales page.

    Also, why the gigantic font?

what stops your prospective customer from going directly to the product site?
Do you mean by bypassing your link, or they research the product on your site and then go to the product site to buy?

Make it real easy for them to just click through your affiliate link. Text links work good for that.

I agree with Laura regarding the pre-selling part. It is very important to have a call for action on your site to entice people to buy. Customers actually like buying, you just need to get them into the motion and the rest will be history. Hope that helps!

Short answer, nothing but your sites copy. If your getting decent traffic you have half the battle won. Now research other sales, review, presell, etc. in your websites niche. Pick up copywriting info. here at this forum and learn how to convince your traffic they are at the place to make their final buying decision and they click on your call to action.

All easier said than done but traffic is usually the hang up I see most often discussed so celebrate your traffic and invest some time learning how to convert it.

If you have traffic you've already conquered the hardest part of internet marketing, the rest is just fine tuning your page to increase sales. Good work!

You have to make your ad compelling so that the people visiting your site will click on it.

Think of what their primary motivator is or what great benefit or avoided pain will compel them to stop what they're doing and click on the ad.

Also, split test your ads and find out which are most effective and never stop trying to find a better ad to test.

    Hope that helps!

    Do 2 things...

    1. Focus on building a list through your website using multiple squeeze pages rather than directly linking aff. products from your site. Then build relationship with your leads and sell them your products.

    2. Give them bonuses if they purchase the product through your affiliate link. People will then use your affiliate link always just for the sake of getting your bonus. With PLR you can pretty much create one bonus at least for every affiliate product you promote...

Maybe because they don't know about the offer yet. So they search for certain keywords and then end up on the offer, or your affiliate site.

In order of easiest to hardest:

    1. Laziness. It is easier to just click your link.

    2. Incentive. If they buy through your link, they get a bonus.

    3. Trust. They know you and understand you always offer the best deal.

Trouble is, people are mean. If they know you will get some money when they buy through your link, they will frequently go buy somewhere else - at the same price - just to make sure you don't get any money.

These are the same people who click your PPC ads and don't buy, just so they can make you pay an extra nine cents to Google for nothing, you jackhole marketing spammer advertising your crap on the internet. Shame on you, trying to make money and stuff.

Ignore those people. They suck and are not worth your time. Take good care of the people who will let you earn your commission, and they'll take good care of you in return.

First understand that internet users are lazy and they want to buy everything at the comfort of their home. If your website does not generate any sales then following may be the reasons -
your site does not give them what they are looking for?
they are not buying traffic - just information seekers
provide them an easy way to reach the product site like a big call to action link.
Find hot deals and make them feel that if they do not buy through your link, they lose the deal..

Just my 2 cents... Hope it helps you..

The only thing stopping them is YOU.

If your site is crap and offers them no reason to buy from you rather than to
just go to the main sales page, then don't expect sales.

Affiliate marketers in general don't have a clue how to sell somebody else's
product. They think they can just put up a page with a crappy paragraph or
two about the product (if that) and the sales will come pouring in.

Let me ask you a question.

What are YOU doing on your site to entice people to buy from YOU?

Did you right a real in depth review?
Did you offer some bonus incentive to buy from you?

Heck, does your site at least LOOK really great?

There is a lot of competition out there and unless you give people a reason
to buy from you, they won't.
