Big Boards down?

The one and only. I assumed every internet marketer was aware of this site so didn't think a link necessary. It's been down for me for a while.

Yeah, it's gone man and it doesn't look like it's coming back. But it was a bit long in the tooth anyway, like it was built in 1912 .

Anyway, I've built Find A Forum - The Ultimate Directory of Internet Discussion Forums as a replacement for Big Boards.

Now all we need is a time machine to go back to 1999 and start a load of forums in lucrative niches!

Anyway, if you do want to start a forum then it's probably too late in so many niches. HOWEVER, keep an eye open for NEW NICHES. I mean, Harry Potter is a fairly recent niche that popped up, and the first person to make a Harry Potter forum is doing pretty well these days.

And as far as BIG forums go, the Cars niche seems particularly massive. And so does pregnancy. I guess both topics have a lot of people who urgently need their questions answered.

If you want to have a go at forum marketing then I've been quite successful at that over the years. Basically you need to become a respected member of a board (1000+ posts will get you this) and people will flock to follow the links you put in your posts. But the key is to post good content and not make your marketing too obvious (i.e. no affiliate links). Remember that forum owners HATE marketing people as spammers create overheads that cost time and money.

As to my site, I have a lot of work to do but I'm open to suggestions for what features will be useful. Top of the list is adding more forums and ranking them. And if you own a forum, then please use the submit forum page.
