I'm new, got a little overload, trying to make sense...

ok I am new to this, I have seen the long thin websites, with all the hype such as:
CopyNProfit
Recession Proof Fast Cash Strategies
(they wouldn't let me link yet)
and all the ebay secrets pages, and now I am finding the PLR stuff too..

theres some things I am starting to understand and some I am lost with.
example:
I think that a PLR site is a place to buy alot of PLR articles and eBooks that you can rebrand as your own and resell on a website you make, usually a "tall and skinny" website.
(why are they all tall and skinny?)
people get hyped up form reading the website, and buy the material that is offered ont he site and they have their "info".
SEO-search engine optimization and other topics, like ebay secrets and get your own plr stuff, and other things... am I right?

so you buy stuff, brand it and resell it, right?

Affiliate stuff, you have a website or blog and talk about a certain thing, such as a "niche" like "HIV+ Dating", then you have links to say...HIV+ Dating sites that have affiliate programs, when someone buy a membership, you get paid a percentage for the sale...
right?

I am hearing about "article writing" I am not sure what that is but one guy was saying to write 20 articles a day and get 3000$, but one guy who did it said he couldn't do it, he wrote 200 articles and made $800+...
hows that work?

Blogging for dollars, I assume again you blog about a niche or something and then have affiliate links to other sites or to a site like the tall skinnys and sell them ebay secrets or some such.
Right?

I have also notice that in alot of these forums people don't come right out and say what they mean or give the steps or tell you:
1) get a website
2) upload this website content and rebrand this and sell it
3) drive traffic to your site with a blog or other means and when the product sells, you make money. soon the traffic is so good sales are up like 100$ a day, so you do 10 more sites similar to this and those sites make 100$ a day eventually, and theres a cool $1000 a day from all 10 sites....

right?

someone help, I have info overload, I have 100$ and I am not sure where to start, I have a great domain that has alot of traffic and want to put something on there that will sell. but what?

also if you had only 100$ to spend, what would you buy in a wso or whatever they are, to make money, and help feed yourfamily? we just had adaughter and now I am trying to make more money so I won't have to work as much and maybe so I can become an "Internet milliionaire".

BTW, I do have another domain that I have google ads on, and I make enough money a month to pay my car gas bill, I make enough money that they do a direct deposit each month so I know this stuff work...

I am pulling towards the plr stuff. but I am also a photographer, please see my website in my signature to see my website.
thanks....

If you like photography, start there. Your site (btw, the link in your sig needs to be fixed) is interesting, however it is not intuitive as to what a user will get from it. I would suggest that you create a blog.

To do this you must get a hosting account, like at Hostgator. They show you how to set up your hosting account.

Then install Wordpress (its a one-click deal), again the hosting provider will show you how to do this.

If you want to know how to do anything relating to websites, go to YouTube and search it. There are tons of how-to videos for setting up websites and blogs.

Build up your content on your blog. Talk about photography and what you like about. Help other beginner photographers. Add a Flickr widget to show your photographic work, or pick a photo gallery them to enhance the look of your blog.

Publish other content about photography around the web via articles, Squidoo pages, Hubpages, and other sites that let you post content. Make sure your content links back to your blog.

At your blog, add an email list building tool like Aweber. This allows you to send newsletters and other content to build a relationship with your users.

Once you get some traffic from this figure out how you want to monetize. Do you want to sell camera equipment to beginners? If so, sign up for an affiliate program like Amazon (which I see you have already) and target the cameras you recommend. Do you want people to hire you? Link to your business/commercial site.

Make your content targeted and make your product promotions targeted.

Once you get better at your content development, start doing keyword research so that you can really target your users.

My recommendation is make this single photography blog very good and you will learn a lot during the process. Then you can try other niches.

This is the best way to start IMHO.

      .

Thank you very much for the reply, let me give a little more info. My site is just a site that holds my photography, its a precanned site that I can use to upload and organize my galleries and shoots and for people to look thru, it is nothing more than that, except that I do have google ads on there that aren't bringing in much, and an amazon account which I have the widget on, which isn't doing much either. I have posters for sale there but noone is buying.
During the day I am an IT consultant, my main day job is here:
sdtechent.com, I know about doing sites and installing blogs and joomla and other types of sites driven by datbases and stuff so no worries there.

I do have a dating site that I make a little money off of each month, its a niche site, doing dating for HIV+ people. I have several thousand people on it, but not alot of people pay, but I do pull in maybe 100+ a month. But the nigerian scam artists are always trying to scam these people because they feel because they are HIV+ they are desperate. and honestly, some are. but I digress... I do have google ads on there and THAT brings in enough that I am given a direct deposit each month. and their minimum for a deposit is 100$ a month.
I also have an affiliate link to another dating site for the same type of people, which it took me several years to get one deposit from them of 120$.

I have a URL that gets, or used to get so much traffic due to a mistake on several other blog sites. I realized this one day when traffic had exceeded my bandwidth and I started to investigate, thats where I found out about the mistaken link to that URL. a little dirty trick I did was to put a google search on that webpage and I altered the code to fill the search black with the words of the mistaken URL, a big no no with google. anyway that alone was pulling several hundred a month till google found out and banned that URL.

anyway So I am investigating these tall skinny sites with the many special offers for only 37$, 17$, 97$ and so on. and the lovely words of :"And YOU CAN TOO!" hahahaha
which I tell you, they have almost had me buying several times, and I still might.

as far as blogs are concerned, Iheard not to use a free one such as blogger because what if it mysteriously disappears, but why would that happen? blogger didn't like the competition? ok theres an option to publish the blog to your website into its own directory. what about that? could it still disappear?

anywy yea this is all VERY interesting and fascinating to me, and when I start seeing money coming in from not much work thru websites, it makes me more excited.

can anyone tell me about these things I hea about writing articles for places like ezinearticles? one WSO I heard about was write 20 articles a day for 30 days to bring in 3000$ ???
where how do I find out more about this? thanks.

Looks like Marcus got you started in the right directions.

I agree, since you really enjoy photography, you should enjoy building and working the site, won't seem so much like work.

Article writing takes two things: Keyword research and good writing skills.

What you need to learn is how to write articles that will be found by the search engines. This means finding keywords in your niche that have many searches but lower competition. These keywords go in your article title and content. You can do this research with Google at

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordTool or at

    Search-based keyword tool.

I recommend you learn how to use these tools before you buy any keyword tools (again, search YouTube for help.)

Write your articles about your niche using your keywords (without spamming your article with the keyword.) Then submit them to place like Ezinearticles, Go Articles, Article Dashboard, etc.

Search this forum for tips on writing articles and doing keyword research and completing your resource box effectively.

    Good luck!
