I'm sorry to sound like a smart-alek, but why don't you just type a unique description meta tag for every post??

The All-in-one-SEO-pack gives you full control over the description meta tag... so just edit it to be unique!

That what i was going to say ehicks...lol. The best way to do it to make your own descriptions. Just make sure you uncheck the box "autogenerate description."

      actually prefer 'platinum seo'

and the same advice applies. just make your own tags instead of using the auto function. though I am not convinced this is needed, as google marks down duplicate content (on the same site) not duplicate description. though it can not hurt you to write each tag individually.

Yeah, I agree, i done that for my last post after seeing the same meta description indexed for two different posts. I already unchecked the "Auto Summary generation" option.

I wish to have something like automatically grabbing first few lines of the post. So it makes each description. IS it possible with this plugin? or is there any plugin to do this?

What are the advantages of using platinum seo than using all in one seo pack?

I already downloaded this plugin. Can i replace this plugin with all in one seo pack? ( for already built blog with all in one seo pack)

Do you mean auto generation of summary won't hurt for google ranking?

I already unchecked the boxes not to index categories and archives to avoid duplicate content.

Two things... first, dupe description meta tags probably won't HURT your rankings, but if you use Google Webmaster Tools, it'll probably give you a warning about dupe description meta tags. So it's always a good rule of thumb to just give Google what they are looking for!

Second, like I said, it won't hurt your rankings, but having really aligned optimization elements on your page will HELP your rankings. So, having your keyword phrase plugged into the title tag, description meta tag, your H1 tag, and sprinkled throughout your content will do WONDERS for your ranking for that keyword phrase.

So the lesson is... don't let automated tools create your content and SEO elements, put the time in and make sure you have a unified keyword phrase focus across the whole page, including all page elements, and you will increase your page ranking.
