Does anyone here create NEW listings on Amazon?

I don't understand something, i signed up with Amazon to pay them monthly so i could create my own listings but it's not working at all.

4 out of 5 times it stops me and says "A PRODUCT ALREADY EXISTS" for my EAN/UPC code. But the listing that already exists is usually rubbish and has a rubbish photo and details are sometimes wrong. I wanted to create my own listings with my own photos and put in the right information but i can't do this when some other crap listing on Amazon is using my products EAN number?

Can someone please offer advice, thanks much appreciated.

    Ha! We are the product manufacturer and can't even fix the bad listings that exist for our own products.

      Seriously? So Amazon won't help me over the phone on Monday when i call their seller support.. that's not much good. I could fake the EAN code but that's an easy way to get kicked off it.

    Why would Amazon want 37 different listings for the same product? You are trying to apply eBay mentality to Amazon. It doesn't work that way on Amazon.

      Thanks for your reply, but do you really have to ask "why" after reading my post, it's because if i want to sell something on amazon i have to list my product under someone elses rubbish, half done, poorly described listing just because they got there first.. at least that is how i see it until i ring amazon on monday.

    You do realize that their current model prohibits 37 people from creating their own crappy pages right? As it stands, there is just one. Look at it from amazon's perspective.
