Paypal Problem...(India)

Hi friends,

I created a paypal account but it seems that my debit card is not verified by the Paypal . When i contacted my bank they said that our debit cards ("Indian Overseas Bank") cannot be used for paypal transaction.

So could you please suggest me a bank in India whose debit card is accepted by Paypal...

Thank U

As I recall, paypal accepts *****ANY***** debit card! But they need to make sure it is YOURS, so you have to enter two codes to PROVE it! The problem is that those two codes are sent to you in the form of deposits. You have to enter those two.

Of course, paypal had a falling out of sorts with the indian government, a while back. HERE is a message that explains it!

PayPal in India is ‘Close to Dead’

you can add any Indian Nationalized Bank in to paypal .

Like Sbi, ICICI, Axis bank or any other.

And then paypal confirms your bank account by sending some small amount into it.

So that you can confirm your bank account.

And than you can with draw your money from Paypal to your bank account.

It takes 5-7 working days to credit in to your account.

If you have any more queries, you can ask me.

If you add Credit Card that will be so easy to verify account.

But still you can add Debit card too and can verify as I said above.

I have actually done the same.
I have verified Paypal using a debit card. That took me around 6 days. I mainly use it for Fiverr and to accept payment from other clients. Its simple and hassle-free. The money is usually transferred to my account within 3 days. I am usin Union Bank of India.

Or else, you can open a savings account with HDFC, (10k min balance), activate internet banking, you can the create VCC (Virtual Credit Card) that you can use with Paypal.

The other option is make a fixed deposit if certain amount and ask the bank for a credit card against fixed deposit.

You can find more info on internet. Just Google it!

Else use VCC through HDFC or ICICI Bank. It will work also.

For Purchase you need to link your credit card with your PayPal account.

All you gotta do is just give Rs.25000 or more to HDFC or ICICI and ask them for Credit card against that fixed deposit.
Thats alll u can send money by using that credit card.

I read in another thread around this forum that you PayPal will not allow users from India to use their system.

I don't get it because there are a lot of businesses online that do business in India.

I think this is no longer an issue as Paypal is available even to India right now, all you have to do is find the best debit card to verify your account with. I hope this helps.

I have successfully used HDFC, ICICI & AXIS Bank's debit card with paypal. However, all my cards were International Debit Cards and were registered with Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode.

I have also heard from few others that SBI debit cards work with Paypal as well.

Use HDFC Bank or Kotak Mahindra.

Use their Netsafe/Netcard facility to generate a small $2 card and verify your PayPal account.
