Article Key Word Targeting

I've searched and searched for answers to this and have came up with NONE.

Question #1: I have a long tail keyword phrase that I want to target for a niche. Now, when I have articles done, lets just say 20 articles, would i target that keyword on everyone of them, or should i write the other articles around other keywords?

Example: I want to target "secure dog training". Would i base the other keywords around the LSI keywords of dog training and include dog training in one of the articles?

Question #2: Now, LSI keywords are difficult for me. Everyone says that if you go and lookup your main keyword in google keyword tool, then take the top LSI keywords. Now, does that mean the first ones on the list? Or the top five searched for?

I am so confused about this article marketing it is crazy. If anyone could PLEASE help, I would really greatly appreciate it.

    Hi Cash,

You can write as many articles as you like per keyword. Just keep the focus on that keyword for each article.

Some keywords may only give you one or two articles, while others could give you dozens.

LSI keywords aren't quite as important when it comes to total number of searches. Think of these as the seasoning to the main keyword recipe. Sprinkle them throughout, but add just enough for taste.

To put it another way, the LSI words make the article more palatable to the readers. They keep the article from sounding like you're stuffing keywords, but, at the same time, show the search engines that you are using relevant terms.

    Hope that all makes sense.

One final bit of advice. Don't become paralyzed by trying to figure it all out. Get a few articles written and see what happens. Think about keywords if you like, but definitely getting a few published will boost your efforts.

    All the best,
    Michael

Question 1: You could target all 20 articles for that one longtail, however I would suggest mixing it up a little for SEO purposes. You should have other longtail anchorlinks pointing to your site so that it does not look like you are trying to game the system, etc. Mix it up using LSI and what not.

Question 2: LSI can be tricky, but honestly I just kind of use my head.....like think to yourself "what is another way of saying this phrase?" Google's tool will help you, I would stick to high search/low competition keywords for now though and move up from there.

You already ARE adding value by asking questions. I can guarantee you just helped a lot of other people who were wondering the same thing.
