OCD about checking stats..

I have this problem where I get OCD about checking my stats and I think it's leading me away from actually working. Whether it's Chitika, Google Analytics or whatever.. it's weird because I know they change once a day. But I check them like they're going to change or something. I also rationalize looking at analytics so I can see which pages are doing well, and maybe reproduce more of those topics, which isn't negative I guess, but I still feel like it's negative towards my productivity. I also have a bad habit of leaving the "live" beta open, and watching visitors come and go, it's like I watch them like a hawk.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you snap out of it?

I do the same thing. Don't know if you should feel better or not, since I'm pretty squirrely.

Yes it is. It's a type of stalling. That's why you have to rationalize it.

You have to transfer that attention to something productive.

Ever heard the saying "a watched pot never boils?" The reverse is also true. "An unwatched pot boils over."

Stop watching the pots you have and put some more on the stove.

There were times that I used to check my stats every few hours. That used to drive me up the wall. I knew I should not do it but still kept on doing it over and over again.

You just have to talk to yourself about this and keep telling your mind that you should do it once per day because if you don't, you will not do the necessary things that move you forward in your business.

Plus, when you get your tasks for the day done with, you can close the computer and enjoy the rest of the day off doing the things you enjoy.

Get OCD about MAKING stats... not checking them.

Only one of those makes you money.

      This.

Get OCD about providing the best product or service you can. The stats will come.
