How to hide affiliate links?

INTERNET MARKETING

Is there any way I can hide affiliate links on search bar to show my domain name? I am using affiliate PHP date feed for sub pages. So if a user click on any of my sub pages, they will see my affiliate link instead of my domain name. Is there a way around it?

Use PHP.

I usually create a folder , e.g. mydomain.com/affiliateproduct and in the folder I have a php script that redirects the user to my affiliate link.

Just create an index.php file in that folder with the following content:

header("Location: http://www.youraffiliateurl.com/whatever-whatever");
?>

Here's how I do it (I am not an expert by any means):

Create an html file called index.html with the following content:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<script>window.status = ' ';</script>
<title>YOUR TITLE</title>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET border='0' rows='100%,*' frameborder='no' marginleft='0' margintop='0' marginright='0' marginbottom='0'>
<frame src='YOURAFFILIATELINK' scrolling='auto' frameborder='no' border='0' noresize>
<frame topmargin='0' marginwidth='0' scrolling='no' marginheight='0' frameborder='no' border='0' noresize>
<body>
</body>
</FRAMESET>
</HTML>

then link to that directory. Eg, yoursite/recommends/thisproduct. It will redirect them to that affiliate link but show your directory in the address bar.

You don't need to know PHP. The reply below is the method I use and it's been working good for me till date.

Do this:

1) Open up Notepad.
2) Paste this line of code over there

Code:

<?php
header("Location: http://www.youraffiliateurl.com/whatever-whatever");
?>

3) Replace youraffiliateurl.com with your actual affiliate link.

4) Click on File > Save or Just hit Ctrl + S and name it anything you want with a .php at the end. Say for an example, index.php

5) Upload it to wherever you want.

6) Go to the URL where you uploaded it. For example, if you uploaded in the root - http://www.yoursite.com/index.php

Presto! It redirects.

So now, you can just link to this neat looking URL and it'll redirect to your aff link.

Instead of index.html create index.php file and add the exact code I gave you, only replace the affiliate link inside the code.

You can use HTaccess instead of PHP to cloak affiliate links. Cloaked links look like yoursite.com/productname Here is one set of instructions about it.

I tried index.php and it redirects the URL to affiliate URL but it does not hide the URL in search bar. I think I would let you guys see the website so it will make more sense. Please go to Easy Approval Credit Cards, Instant Credit Cards, Apply Online, all the links on the left side menu are affiliate links from Card Offers but they open within my website with Card Offers affiliate links in the bar. How can I hide card offers links and just show my domain name when some one clicks on these links.

  Sounds like the easiest for you is just to make tiny little html files for each of those offers html while which do a redirect for you when clicked.

Save as index.htm
Upload to top level directory

your affiliate link and you dont need
to FTP the file...it does all that for you.

Two Things:

1. Why isn't anyone talking about tracking? Are you all using Google Analytics? Because, if not, a good solution could be a tracking program installed on your own server.

2. Regarding redirects: I have always kept it simple but one thing I did not understand and wish for people to avoid is when the link in the url box remains cloaked and Paypal (or any payment processor) refuses the sale and warns the visitor that they might be coming from a phishing site. What is it that triggers that and does all the above avoid it?
