Hello Warriors,
I have just joined this great forum and realised that Internet Marketing is a great source of income if it is done neatly. Well, I'm a professional logo designer and earn something like 200-300 $ per month that too if I get any contract or win any contest.
I want some advice from you gentlemen out there. How can I make more money by logo designing ? Should I build my own website and sell logo packages ? How much money will I make through it ? Or Should I buy a script like 99designs ?

If you think that this business will not work to earn money then please tell me the right business to choose like CPA, PPV, clickbanks ? I can devote around 5-10 hours if needed. Please refer me some good ebooks to buy to understand IM better and earn money as I'm getting really confused in WSO.

Thank You

Major corporations spend thousands (sometimes tens- or hundreds- of thousands) of dollars on brand identity (logo, letterhead, business cards etc). While you might make some $ from Fiverr or 99designs, the real income comes if you can lock down bigger accounts.

I don't mean you have to go out and get a Fortune500, but look for mid-size companies in your area with crappy logos and approach them. I suggest companies like insurance, financial services, lawyers, etc. They have $ to spend, likely don't know about fiverr or 99designs (because they're old-fashion type businesses) and typically don't have a lot of signage that would be expensive to change. Try charging $1,000 / package. Offer unlimited tweaks. If you can get one a month, you've tripled your income.

Start your own website and charge for your services. There are people out there who will pay a nice $50 for your services (if they are good). Now consider this as opposed to $5 on Fiverr.

you can start your own website to run online business. For how much you can charge, I think you can learn about that by comparing the same service in this industry. You need to make traffic for your online business at the same time.

It would be better if you start by offering some services, this way you have option to learn what is required in the market and what your clients are doing.

    Rule of thumb:

    Income = Product(Monetary Value) * Customers

So, basically you need to reach out for more people. The alternative is selling your product at higher prices.

Concentrate on one of these approaches, utilize what all the smart people here give away (free info and perhaps a decent WSO) and you'll make bank.

PS: Try Fiverr.com to see if people are interested in your kind of work.

PPS: Fiverr.com will be where most of your logo design competition will take place. These guys create (oftentimes pretty decent) logos for $5. You need to have a lot of customers to make this business profitable...

    PPPS: Good luck
    Thanks Mate,
Logo for 5$ ? Well, It must be in raster format made in Photoshop because for industry standards the price is too low. What If I make a Facebook page for my business and get likes from targeted audience ?

I'm absolutely sure that companies are willing to spend 1000's of bucks on Iconic Brand Identity. I was thinking to provide package of logo and stationary with domain. Do you think it will work ?

How good are your designs, and do you have a portfolio of previously paid for designs?

If you put outcome quality designs, you can definitely build a business or partnership with this skill.

    get started doing these steps...

    1. create your site and portfolio showing off your knowledge.

    2. create a blog and start posting content and your work on your blog daily.

    3. get backlinks to your blog by submitting content to other web 2.0 sites, article directories, etc.

    4. be active in logo design forums and post good content out there, be helpful.

    5. build a list with the traffic that you get and build relationship with them.

    6. ask your list what they need.

    7. create or find affiliate products based on the needs of your list.

    8. email them your offer.

Rinse and repeat the above steps...

Stick to what you are good at and then learn how to build a business around it. You could template packs and sell on here. Or resell rights to a big graphic package. It depends on how good you are at logo designing I guess to be fair.

I would recommend you to start your own website, build your brand and start showing off your portfolio. Nevertheless, there are countless of logo-design companies and I wouldn't advise you to compete with them head to head.

If possible, take a day or two (or longer if you need) to brain-stomp your USP (unique selling proposition). Offer things which are unique to the public, I know crap about design so I can't give you good suggestion on that. But for instance, maybe you can offer:

    1) Package logo design with discounts (well, maybe not as unique)

    2) You'll create 4 logo at the price of 1. However, no revision. Customers will choose 1 out of the 4.

    3) Pen/Pencil Drawing logo (I just made this up, but it seems like a good idea)

    4) Create video tutorial on how to create a basic logo --> offer them for FREE. People will start to notice and talk about you (well, if you create good one)

Be a logo specialize that only specialize in LOGO.. nothing else! When people talk about logo design, they talk about you. There are 101 companies offer "mediocre" logo design, web design, ecommence design. Be different and specialize only in your field, that somehow makes a difference too.

Hope this helps and good luck with your launch,
    Jeremiah

If your design is really good and you work at what you are doing here is what will happen:

    1. You customer base will increase.
    2. You will enjoy repeated clients.
    3. Some clients will refer friends or even become a reseller.
    4. Imitating 99design might not work, for all I care they haven't gotten the formula 100% or taken the market all to themselves. Fiverr is there, feeding the small hungry community. Think of something different of your own and see what you can make out of it.

There are tens of ways to make money online affiliate, ad sense, video, web designer, site flipping, domain selling and several other services that you can render. What works for me might not work for you, what matter is if there is a demand for your services.

In my experience, the best way to build a design business is to have a site that displays your work and then find your customers by posting on relevant forum & blogs (Google Alerts comes in handy for this), placing classifieds on a site like Craigslist (you can pay someone on Fiverr to do this), or by placing banner adverts on relevant sites. Buysellads.com is a good site to find places to advertise. You should also consider offline advertising as well.
