Right now after they put in their email and name, they will be redirected to a video "offer" which is my affiliate page for clickbank. My niche is primarily "money making online", or something of that sort. Thanks for the help!

Ok, stay on targeted traffic only and always think about your prospective subscriber. Are you providing value to your visitor/viewer? Is there an incentive to subscribe? Are you following through on your incentive or promise? These questions, and many more, are what you should be asking yourself before you even consider how to find your audience. Best of luck!

No, but you can choose between trying sensibly with prospects of getting somewhere, or trying with the deck stacked terribly firmly against yourself, as you seem to be at the moment, I'm afraid.

Perhaps you hadn't realised, but setting off in the "MMO niche" for your first list is probably the single commonest mistake that beginning internet marketers can make, and probably the single commonest cause of failure. It makes very little sense at all to be teaching/promoting something of which you yourself have no experience.

You've posted here asking for help, but it's starting to look like you want help only from other people who also don't know that? :confused:

BGW asked you "what is your value proposition? What are you offering?" but instead of answering his question or discussing it with him, you said "Right now after they put in their email and name, they will be redirected to a video "offer" which is my affiliate page for clickbank." That's the answer to a completely different question (like "Where do they get taken after putting in their email address?"). What you ought to be thinking about, as BGW rightly was, is "what is your value proposition? What are you offering?"

(Incidentally, please excuse my expressing my opinion, as a full-time ClickBank affiliate, that what you're doing there is an awful idea anyway).

One of the big, specific problems with what you're trying to do is that it's a ClickBank product, which means that anyone who's already a ClickBank affiliate (as many people interested in "MMO" are), even if they follow your sales funnel as far as the product's sales page, will be buying it - if at all - through their hoplink and not through yours, so you often won't get paid for the sale, even when there is a sale.   I'd go with solo ads and a ppc campaign to get things started. Look for low cost ppc networks to start testing. However, make sure you have an email sequence set up in Aweber so you can continue to promote relative products to your subscribers on auto-pilot.
  
  Since you're redirecting to an affiliate link after opt-in, you'll want to make sure you have a back-end sales funnel in place and ready to go in case no one bites at the initial offer.

Same place you would drive traffic for a niche specific blog/website/offer mate.

It all depends on your time and money ...resources. You can start with solo ads, video marketing, forum posting, CPC, PPV ...you get the point.

Every traffic source you can think of, works just as fine here. Only it has to be targeted traffic; otherwise it's just a waste of resources, you'll get a weak opt-in rate and your list quality will be very poor.

If you've got the cash to buy solo ads, I'd start there. Check out Reed Floren's "Solo Ad Directory," Safe-Swaps, and Charlie Page's "Directory of Ezines" for resources. Also, budget dependent, free WSO's work nicely. Just link to your opt-in page.

If your budget doesn't allow for this, then you may want to solve that problem first. Get a(nother?) job or provide services online.

It doesn't take much to get started... well, I suppose that's all relative. It's around $85 or so for 250-300 guaranteed clicks to your squeeze page from a quality solo ad provider (check reviews). $40 to run a free WSO.

Toolkitkat, It would probably be good for you to post a link to your squeeze page here. That way you would get good feedback on the page and plenty of advice on improvements. You seem unclear in your own mind about what exactly you are offering re value, relationship, sales funnel etc. It would probably be a good idea to get clarity it your own mind about what exactly you plan to do FOR your list. The money is in the relationship (NOT IN THE LIST). Provide value, you may need to think a bit about that, if you were presented with your squeeze page would you optin?

Well here is my landing page..I know its kinda of trickery but hey all I see is trickery to get people to opt in nowadays. Give me some feedback. Yes I hide the actual link for reasons with co.cc. w=w=w. = finally-be-financially-free = .co.cc/ ...(Remove the ='s as I cannot post links yet) AND YES I AM NEW TO THIS. So dont kill me please.

Wow. Couldn't have asked for a more helpful post! If MMO niche isn't a good one to start off with since I don't know much about it then could you suggest me a good beginners niche? And my BIG problem is I dont know where to start building a relationship with my list. Do I offer them free things or do I just offer them valuable information? You are most likely the biggest help i've ever had on ANY forum. Thanks

Oooh, "the easy questions first"?!

It depends a bit, how you're going to promote the products, but in general ...

You want a niche that you feel comfortable putting up a little site about, and sending emails to subscribers about ... in other words you have to be able to write something about it. You don't necessarily need a PhD in the subject, but you have to pick something where you can communicate with people the fact that you know a bit about it ... so any hobbies? Interests? That sort of thing ...
You also want a niche in which people spend money (people spend money on most things, really, so this isn't normally a big deal, but you might want to stay away from "niches famous for being full of freebie-seekers" and "niches in which the customers don't have credit-cards" and so on?) ...
You also want a niche in which there are multiple products available, and likely to continue to be multiple products available, too, because multiple/repeat sales to the same customers are potentially very profitable, so don't choose something so obscure that it has only one product and nothing else related ...
And then maybe you want to think about niches in which the customers are likely to have a bit of money and not all to be heavy-duty victims of the recession? (This point, arguably, has more to do with "traffic demographics" than "niches") ...
And then maybe (depending, again, on what sort of traffic you envisage), you might want to exclude anything "over-the-top competitive" where hundreds of hardened old pro's are trying to sell all the same things as you (this was a problem for you with MMO, I think?). There are some low-key, non-glamor niches where this is very much the case ...
And another potentially good sign is if it's a niche that attracts "desperate buyers". Now that does apply to MMO, admittedly (especially in a recession) but it applies to many other areas, too (including quite a lot of "health-related niches")? ...

Just some general thoughts in an attempt to gloss over the lack of specific suggestions ...

I give them a "free report" (or whatever it's called) for signing up, and I "sell" it to them, more or less, on my landing pages. That's the only "direct selling" I do (and it's free!), all the rest I do by building credibility and trust and then "recommending" without ever sounding like a salesperson.

And then I send them "valuable content" and some promotions by email.

A good beginners niche... How about one that you know something about. What's your passion? Write down all the things that interest you and that you know something about. Then go online and look to see if that market can be reached easily. Look to see what products are for sale in that market... etc, etc, etc...

Just like a few others said on here, the best thing you can offer people is something free that they need. Take a look at your niche and some forums where people are talking about that topic. Join in and answer some of those questions, providing value to the discussions. As your traffic comes in and your sales increase from emailing your list, you can use those profits to expand into building websites around your topic and ranking them. Then you can monetize your sites and use those profits to expand to cost per action or more affiliate marketing. The possibilities are endless.

I'm really sorry, but I don't really give proper figures any more, because I find it attracts some hostility and resentment and criticism.

About a year and a half ago (when my business was just over two years old) I was earning about the same as my doctor and my lawyer both earn, and my income's continued to expand steadily since then, so I'm doing very well now. My oldest list is now nearly 4-years old and includes many thousands of subscribers. I have 8 "main lists" (they're each subdivided, to some extent) in 8 different niches. Some of them are small (under 3,000) but they're really high quality and comprise people who want to hear from me (under whatever my pen-name is, in that niche!), and mostly they open and read my emails and they don't unsubscribe. If you maintain a high open-rate and recommend things for which you're an affiliate, you will make money: income follows from that.

It's all about quality and relevance. For me, those are always the income-determining issues.

Run a quick PPC campaign (about $50) to see if the niche is responsive. Lead them to your squeeze page to see if they'll bite. If they bite, then this is a good indication that you could possibly make money in your niche with your sales letter.

It all depends upon the resources you have. If you have more money than time start with solo ads, ppc, paid ads, etc.

If you have more time than money start with article marketing, seo, blogging, content marketing, link building, forum posting. Test things first, make some money, get your numbers, build your product line and sales funnel then start with paid advertising...
