Just kinda want to throw out my $.02 real quick... Yes, sending an email to 10 million people at once would be super cool, but begs the question: how targeted can that be if it's 10 million people?

Focus on quality... These companies that try to sell you on sending 10 million solo ads is NOT a reputable company I can assure you. In fact I can go so far as to say I Guarantee it's a scam.

What you need to do is find newsletters in your niche that people actually read. Scout out those newsletters and become a subscriber. Look at the emails they send and see if it's quality stuff. Is it a "pitch fest" or do they have good content?

Approach the owners of those newsletters you like and strike up a deal.

Wouldn't waste your time - it would be like fishing in the middle of the atlantic ocean on a rowing boat - very difficult!

Far better to fish where the streams are calm and you know that there are fish even if the stream is considerably smaller.

I've unfortunately tried many of these "Send to 500,000 people" solo ad blasts and they've proven to be pretty unresponsive.

Out of 500,000 people, I got 24 opt-ins and even those people weren't responsive.

If it sounds way too good to be true, then it probably is.

I've tried those services years ago and got nothing. I even found a couple of sites offering email lists of 1 billion people, and even offering to mail to the list for you. Needless to say, those sites are gone now. Nobody ever answers the email anyway, and most of the email goes to spam and is blacklisted before it even reaches the inbox.

Don't fall for it. You're better off writing 3 articles a day to EzineArticles.
