Who can create / ship my physical product?

Hi Warriors,

Sorry I can't even think of the proper term for this...but I have a digital product and I keep getting requests for printed versions. So I figured I'd like to offer an upsell version which is basically printed out, plus some videos on CDs etc...

So I assume I have to come up with the "masters" of the documents and CDs but I know there are companies who will handle the printing / packaging / shipping etc.

Can anyone recommend some companies who do this?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers, Rich

    Hi There
If you have CDs/DVDs with cases and need fulfillment, I highly recommend Kunaki.com
basically you upload your product, set up the case design using their templates or get a custom one, they take care of the rest, including payment and shipping.
you can also integrate the Kunaki system with Paypal.
happy to help if I can feel free to ask any questions

Hmmm, I see both of those companies let you publish CD/DVDs...but what if I want to have say a printed manual and some CDs also? Neither of those outfits seem to handle something like that.

    Anyone else?

I believe many IM'ers use "Speaker Fulfilment Services":

      Another vote for Kunaki.

I've used them for a few years with great success.

    Hi,

With Lulu you can go for a printed version as well as cd's/dvd's. They are very cheap and you control everything yourself. Just don't let them do your graphics: you can have these done elsewhere much better and cheaper.

Rich, you need several different services. You might like to find one company that will do them all, if possible, or you could shop around for them separately and make sure they talk to each other about the handoff between them.

You need to make the physical books. This will require a regular printshop, that can give you a good price per unit on 1,000 or more after covering their setup costs. Or, it will require a print on demand service where cost per unit is much higher, but you can order one or 10 at a time. Or, your workbook could be in a standard 3 ring binder you can easily print and assemble as needed.

You also need to make some videos, so that will involve video production with cameras, microphones, and editing. Or if you simply are putting your slides into a video, you could use Camtasia and Powerpoint.

If the videos are in data format then you can burn CD-ROM's as needed. If you have video DVD's, you'll need to get the master DVD's made. Then you'll need a replication service to mass produce them inexpensively by the thousand, or a smaller service to burn individual disks on demand at a higher unit price.

If your package includes both books and disks, you'll need to assemble them into a big box for shipping. Then you'll need a place to park preassembled boxes and ship them out to customers upon order. And you'll need to be able to take the orders, process card payments and handle refunds.

This adds up to a lot of logistics, so I recommend you outsource all of it and increase your prices enough to pay for someone to handle all these things for you.

    Regards,
    Allen

Perhaps you will have to use two different places for what you are looking for. One to do CDs etc. and one for printing.

Thanks all, Speaker Fulfillment Services seems to be the choice of some of the big IMers based on their testimonials. And Corporate Disk looks like they have been around awhile and do it all as well. This is exactly what I was looking for!

I would also consider Kunaki if just doing CD/DVDs.

    Thanks again,

    Rich
