But where to start? Should I buy a domain first? research a specific niche first? There is obviously just so much information on this board, it can get quite overwhelming.
I'm currently looking into affiliate programs and amazon.

    It all starts with a niche, and a blog/website.

    Try something you like and feel comfortable talking about. Than buy a domain, start posting quality content and make your presence felt. Place a squeeze page somewhere around there and start building your list.

    That's pretty much it if you wanna go on this path. Of course, there are some afferent details involved, which you can find on WF.

    I really understand your problem. I was in the same position than you few years back.

    1) find a good affiliate program in what you want to sell.
    2)Study your market ( Keyword, who will be your clients, where are they hanging out, what they are looking for)
    3) buy a domain
    4) Write Good Content ( give value and talk to those clients)
    5) Traffic

    Find niches... keywords,...market...everyone will say.

    But please,
    Don't spend money now. Use blogspot. Big companies use blogger.com as their official platform. After you set up, do only one thing and one thing only.....

    BUILD LIST

    List building can be done with or without website. Even without blogspot.

    There are different routes you can go, first you will need to find a profitable niche or product.

    You either develop a site of your own, use a free blog platform, buy a ready made site or high PR domain with related name to your niche.

    And start promoting. There are different ways you can use to drive traffic to your site like SEO, PPC, banner ads, social media, forums, blogs and many more.

    A domain is worthless until you've made a plan for it. You first decide what business plan you want to work with. What niche you want to try. What products you want to sell. How you want to make money online. Then you buy a domain if you're going to launch a site, blog, landing page or squeeze page.

    1) Research a topic. It's best to go into a niche which you're passionate in.
    2) Get your domain name. Take note of EMD
    3) Build your business around that domain - Install blog/squeeze page
    4) Write content
    5) Continue to drive traffic

      You need to decide what sort of business you're going to launch before you buy a domain... After all, surely the domain you choose will have to be niche specific.

      So decide what business model you're going to follow (and what product or service you're going to sell).

      Then decide an action plan.

      Only at this point do you start spending money on tools (domain names for example) to help you accomplish that plan.

    Threads like this are very useful. Everybody likes to share ideas. All you need to do is simply to take the most common ones and start NOW. Don't take time to start and don't be shy to make mistakes. Because you need time to rectify your mistakes on the way.

    Okay, make a plan in next 1 hour. No need to be correct. But make a plan. Written plan. With bullet points. Give yourself time limits for each part. Set specific goals and put them on paper too. Then start following them blindly.

    When you reach goals, put them on paper. With date and result. Repeat successes. When you fail, search and find solutions for it. May be in WF. Then try again.

    Don't waste time learning everything. Learning will never end. Start now.

    The best thing to for you to do is research the niche market you want to target. Once you have a niche, do a keyword research. Your keywords will be your guide for your domain and web development as well as SEO. Once you have everything all set up, you should market your website on social networking sites and related niche forums.

    But of course, you should determine which product or service you want to promote on your chosen niche. Build everything from there. Hope this helps!
