you need to have a daily plan of promoting your website..

For example, you should start submitting to article directories, Web 2.0 sites, and have a good Social Bookmarking strategy.

Yes you need backlinks. There are different ways to direct traffic to your website, note those ways and plan the one you will do each day. You also need to make sure that the backlinks coming in to your website are of good quality.

One word, or one acronym I should say SEO . Learn everything you can about it. Without proper onPage SEO, and a well thought out backlinking campaign, your site is going to one place ..... no where.

  • You seem to be new to this game... if so, I would not recommend you to go the SEO route (which is what you're trying to do). It's a long and painful path to walk.

Backlinking is very very important. If you can get some good quality backlinks from high PR sites relevant to your niche, it will boost your search engine ranking like a rocket. You can get backlinks thorugh blog commenting and forum posting. There are several other ways to get backlinks but these are the only ways through which you will get the chance to get 100% relevant backlinks.

What's your long term plan, ad revenue or the grander scheme of selling affiliate/your own products on the site? Organic traffic is best IMO for long term growth, especially if you want to sell your own products

You should start promoting your website on YouTube, forums and blogs. That will give you 2 things at once: Backlinks & Exposure

Dont forget about Yahoo Answers! Clickbank converts sooo well on YA!

When selling ClickBank products I do not place any external links on my sites such as FaceBook, etc. The concept is to not give a visitor any opportunity to leave your site. Too often visitors will visit a Social Media site and never come back to your site to buy.

With that said, after the sale, I do send a link in the email to a FaceBook account. The concept is to keep the buyer in your fold for repeat sales.

A good forum to learn more about ClickBank is

those 22 articles are ok, but you could try these..

    what works for us

    - go and see where competitors are getting their traffic from.
    - Go to where your most likely customer is hanging out and put your message there
    - ppc, ppv good if you know what you are doing
    - articles - yes they still work
    - youtube vids are great if SEO'ed propery and good content
    - blogs
    - press releases - we do 1 a week now and the results are incredible.

that should keep you busy till xmas....so go nuts. Good luck.

    Hi,
You should put interesting videos in your site.
for more information about the products that you promote
and to lower the bounce rate of your site!
you can also give bonuses to people who buy from your links
that can be PLR products that are related to the products that you promote!
If you want to build a list put an optin form with a product that you can give
    to the subscribers!

    Regards,
    Avi

Have you post each of your article in the article directories? if you haven't, do it right now, especially in ezines. Targeted traffic is guaranteed from the nature of this promoting method. Once you've become an expert writer, you can expand your writing strategy in there.

The next thing you have to do is get your site in front of people in the niche. This differs from niche to niche - a good start would be:

    A targeted PPC campaign,

Keep adding content to your site and you should notice a few rankings on the search engines,

    Facebook,

    Answer sites,

    Forums etc...

You just have to find where the people are "going" online in your niche and get your site out there.

If you can, you should select half a dozen products which you think have the best sales pages and perhaps value (but this you won't know until you can study them) and then write a lot of pages about them.
Like one general article for each and then one article for each discussing a specific benefit of each product, then another round of articles discussing another point of each products, etc.

Also, I don't know if that could help, I'm guessing yes, but if you can find a way to display the links via javascript and not by html, maybe that will help avoid detection of the clickbank hop link, if google uses this to not send as many visitors to a site with clickbank links (I don't know if it does this, but in case it does, then it could be an advantage)

Yes, in order to rank your site in google you must get back links. But you also need to make sure your site's on page is properly optimized.

Here's some reading you can do to get your self familiarized with SEO, off site and on site optimization.... http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...questions.html.

Backlinks does make a huge difference, how else would Google track which results should be on the first page? All they can do is change their algorithms to adjust value, but backlinks will always be a part of their system.

Quality content and onsite SEO is far more important than backlinking. It keeps your site safe from google changes. And you can rank just fine without backlinking. I've gotten to page 1 of google without building any sort of back linking system or started on my socail marketing plan...

    1. Write an article
    2. Backlink that article
    3. Write another article
    4. Backlink that article
    5. Write another article
    6. Backlink that article
    7. Write another article
    8. Backlink that article
    9. and so on...

Interlink some of your articles as references as well as share some of your outbound links with education places such as .edu as well as Wikipedia.

You can also start curating content related to your blog and backlink those articles as well.

How much do you know about your readers and prospects?

This really is the most important part of ANY online business. If you don't know them inside out then your content will be off and so will sales.

Knowing about your prospects is just one of those essential pieces of ongoing work that so many people overlook and then wonder why they fail.

Forget backlinking, SEO, affiliate links, ranking, traffic and all the vast amount of tasks you will find yourself doing, in vane, if you don't do your research.

Bottom line is the most people don't hear this kind of message and that is ultimately why they fail.

What's your choice gonna a be?

cheers for all the replies, some great learning for everyone viewing this thread.

My on page seo is okay and the content is good, focused on my niche.

Will post all the articles on to ezinearticles as suggested. Any others that I should be using ?

Also, as a lot of people have mention I will have a look at doing some Youtube videos (review type vids) - which is something else I will need to learn as I have never done this either.

    cheers

I used to believe that if you had one marketing platform that worked then you could just focus on it all the way.

Now I see that we need a presence on as many platforms as is possible. IM will continue in this fashion too. FB and the like are still in their infancy when it comes to how far it can go.

    Youtube
    FB
    Twitter
    LinkedIn
    Blog
    Ezines
    List building

    etc

I have to agree with Anonymous Affiliate... seo can be rough especially when Google decides to change it's algorithm. There are so many other ways to get traffic such as through social media (facebook, twitter, linkedin), youtube, and other methods mentioned throughout this thread and forum.

Yah, you need backlink. For backling what you should do is SEO. This is the only way to rank your page on top.
