Asking the wrong questions on Warrior forum

Hi,

Can any of the moderators or anyone who is knowledgeable of some of the W.F rules..

can you advise me please.

I asked a question as to why one of the threads had disappeared...and someone suggested that the thread that Id just posted may well disappear..

Minutes later it did..

I wonder if I can get an explanation without my questions being avoided or thread being deleted..

I would appreciate any advice..

Thank you

Don't sweat the small stuff. It's a forum. Who cares.

But above are links where to start.

Most likely your original post was in the wrong forum.

Starting a thread asking why your thread was deleted is also against the rules so don't expect this one to last long either.

    5. If your thread is deleted, do not re-post it. Do not post a thread asking why it was deleted. Read the rules, watch how things are done here, and figure it out. This is not complicated stuff.

A thread was deleted. Then you posted another thread, asking why it was deleted, and made a sarcastic comment about this being "one of those forums." Now you're asking why your question about a deleted post was deleted.

      Obsess much?

Before you start slinging the snark, it might be useful for you if you read the rules posts mentioned above.

You think you're special? Guess I'm special too.

I know I have and probably will have again.
And Troy, he definitely is special.

I sometimes wonder if accounts with age to them have not been sold to new people. There is no way 3, 4, or 5 year old accounts could come up with some of the idiocy they do lol.

He (or she) doesn't post much. If you primarily just read, or don't visit that often, you might not realize there's a need to read the rules.

We have members who are MUCH more active who have either never read the rules or just don't think they matter.

        Paul,

It just amazes me at the number of people who shamelessly point to their own sig files anymore or ride on the very edge of the rules.

    Thank you for your replies...

I can now see some rules from some of the posters links.

I do not claim to fully understand or agree with them...but if that's the way things are done then so be it...

If a member has been on here 10 years...they may not have had such a thing happen to them before especially if they are not regulars..

There was content that I wanted from the thread that got deleted...Im assuming once its deleted as we see it on the forum that its gone for ever !

thanks again for your help and advice.

Most of us have had threads or post deleted. I know I have and probably will have again. Sometimes I shoot before aiming and actually appreciate the fact a mod showed better judgment than me by deleting the thread or post.

It is usually the better practice to just put your butt out and go on even if your pants are still smoking lol.

    Hi Troy,

I understand and appreciate what you say.

It was not my thread, but it was an ONLY thread about a product that I had obtained...
and there was some very valid information on it that I really wanted..

that was my frustration ! to just see it disappear next day without any warning.

I could understand deleting any particular posts on that thread, but not all of it especially if it was a longer term thread...

If the post lasted for more than a few minutes it may have been cached by Google. I've found deleted posts before.

A lot of the rules don't make sense to people who aren't looking to abuse the forum and the members. I can assure you, there are good reasons for all of them, and they almost all have to do with keeping the forum useful and keeping abuse out.

For example, the no affiliate links rule for signatures. That seems crazy to some people. Once you see the vast amount of garbage that some people will spew just to get their affiliate links seen, it suddenly makes sense to have that rule in place.

The most recent abusers are folks trying to promote what I like to call "that MLM blog thingy." As with most of those products, the promoters are relentless.

    Hi George,

    Thanks for your suggestion..

I just tried to see if the thread was cached by google as you mentioned...there was a written link but unfortunately upon clicking on it ...it came up with the message below.

"Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator."

As I say it was an older thread of 6 months or more...

At first it was intimidating posting here. I asked a question like how best to use this forum cause there is serious information overload here. Post was deleted.

I later realized that if the question has been asked other places multiple times they will delete it.

Craziness but there is order in the house.

    Hi Paul,

I understand what you are saying about the rules in relation to many things listed...Scammers or too many affiliate or MLM links all offering the same products.

No doubt sometimes things get deleted down to a moderators judgement at the time..maybe most times they are right, sometimes maybe wrong...being such a big forum..I understand its no easy task moderating it all.

In this case...I am disappointed at what happened and initially did not understand or felt that it was wrong to have deleted that particular thread as I was not aware that there were others ( where as has been said sometimes there are several on the same topic).

I will just have to try and take copies of anything important to me in the future !

    Thank you.

To save some time and a lot of disk space with that, go to the menu at the top of the thread you want to save, labeled Thread Tools. Click on "Show Printable Version." Save a copy of the page that comes up.
