There are getting to be so many of these type of post the mods seem to have a hard time keeping up with them. I know I click the triangle several times a day anymore, to the point I hope I am not bothering the mods.

I have also noticed a lot more blatant self promotion as of late and if you notice there always seem to be a no name, very few post, account or two in cohorts with the op. Gaming the WF won't work because the mods have seen it all but that doesn't seem to stop the wave every so often.

Great post, it was couple days ago i seen a post saying "Please review my squeeze page" So i did to see what people thoughts are. Went and got a drink, came back, go on main discussion form and click on "Please review my squeeze page" just to see how the thread is getting on, and it was a different one !!!! There is way too many of these !

LOL, When i saw the headline my immediate reaction was "Geez not another one" but then i saw who the OP was and realized it was something different...

I agree it's a never ending battle and unfortunately trying to point people in the right direction seems fruitless... There are not enough people hitting the report button and far to many who just want to get in their 2 cents worth no matter how stupid or irrelevant the OP.

I'm not entirely sure I agree with you. I was hoping to do this in the next few weeks once I have my site set up, not for a boost in traffic but for actual assistance. For us newbies, it's really great to be able to gather advice and suggestions from those warriors who have been there, bought the t-shirt and the hat.

But now I feel like I'm not welcome in asking for this advice.

Any suggestions on how one could word a thread in order to sound genuine and not an attempt to get a few clicks?

Some people are simply desperate to get traffic to their websites. We all know how hard it is to setup and maintain a website, then when there's no traffic desperation sets in and we're the ones who suffer.

I don't mind helping someone because I need a lot of help myself, but I hate it when people waste my time!

Would it be better if someone just said, "Hey, I need traffic. Can you please visit my site"

Perhaps you should step away from the WF for a bit, Jason. Putting up a confusing and unpronounceable username, then yelling in your sig about people who address you inappropriately seems to indicate some level of stress, don't you think?

  It may be obvious to you. It wasn't obvious to me, nor is it obvious to people who keep trying to address Jason by some form of it, which seems to be a problem for Jason.
  
  Whether most people realize it or not, there's a silent vocalization process involved with reading. We are taught to "sound out words" in our mind, hopefully without moving our lips. JaRyCu is incredibly difficult to sound out.
  
  I am reminded of a Southern California car dealer who insists on using his last name for his business (Todey). His problem is that people keep saying "toady" instead of "today" (his preferred pronounciation) and he doesn't like his name said that way. So he made up signage lecturing people on how to pronounce it. Terrible marketing. What do you care what people say as long as they buy from you?

Well, maybe in the Main Forum it is annoying but this is
pretty standard in the Copywriting subforum. Maybe that's
where they should be asking for reviews. But you can tell
when someone is asking for a genuine review and when
they are looking for extra eyeballs. When they do get
the review if they are quite defensive then you know they
didn't really want a review but free traffic.

And you learn after a while by just taking one look
at the site which class the review request falls in.

I just want a general review of the look/feel etc of the site.

Maybe not Jason. That is exactly how I pronounce it in my head when I read it and I don't know Japanese at all. The only difference is that I would have put the pronunciation example this way. (Sounds like Jay-rye-coo)
