Google favors big sites over small ones. That said, you can make a lot of money using niches that are very narrow. Problem is that you will need many more pages.

Big Net Strategy is to build literally thousands of pages. Although there is little traffic to each one, as an aggregate you will get thousands of page views. Monetizing them is so easy. Put major products on your pages. Try to get at least $10 per sale for your gain.

Instead of going after competitive keywords, I deliberately go after low volume phrases where I can be number one. Ranking for those is easy. It takes less than 99 back links and you are the king of a very small hill, but that is better than going after a competitive phrase and being number thirty seven.

Google keyword tool will often not list these low volume laggards, but you can find them using Keyword Discovery and other similar tools that will show the low traffic keywords you need to run a Big Net Strategy.

Calculate that 10,000 page views per month should yield approx 5% sales or 500 sales or $5,000 per month which is enough for a person to live on. Key is to create thousands of pages. That is the big net to trap fish for you.

Thanks for the info, I never used Keyword Discovery. I will look into it. Cheers

Such an easy idea, and yet can bring a such a good income as long as implemented correctly.

ALOT of the keywords that Keyword Discovery list won't get you traffic. If you use keyword discovery and it produces 5,000 keywords for you... only about 30 of them will bring you the most traffic. And that cost of $60/month isn't warranted either.

I do not think that this works anymore. At on time, long tail keyphrases worked, but not now.

I believe that if you checked Google's keyword tool and found that "blue widgets with yellow and red stripes" was searched for 100 times a month. And that was enough searches for you, so you made a web site or just a web page devoted solely to "blue widgets with yellow and red stripes", you still would not rank in Google for "blue widgets with yellow and red stripes". Instead some big web sites about widgets that do not even mention "blue widgets with yellow and red stripes" will be ranked. Google will look at your web site or web page as spam and think that you are simply trying to fool viewers and scam Google's searches.

Interesting strategy but I'm just not sure I have it in me to write that much content. The way I do it is to write comprehensive content and go for long tail keywords. I don't worry too much about ranking pages since the longtail does a great job of bringing me traffic and views.
