Selling art online through eBay or through Etsy?

I sort of think that Etsy is the way to go. However, 50 listings can be free on eBay each month, and they cost 20 cents on Etsy. Etsy has nicer billing/payment features I think.

Should I use eBay, Etsy or both?

As I write this, I think that the best thing to do would be to use both - to post as many items as I can for free on eBay and then use Etsy.

Or perhaps post them on both.

What do you think?

I think Etsy has a better client base for art... I have a lot of friends that use both and have had better results on Etsy

From what I hear Etsy is hotter right now. But if you can do both, do both.

It's only a matter of your time, but if you can spare it for this, by all means do it. Use both for a bigger exposure.

I have no idea about etsy. But I guess it has to be better than eBay.

Well i do sell on Etsy and will tell you what is the added value that Etsy has to offer:

    a) Cheaper Insertion & Commission Fee
    a1) Each listing is $0.20 / for 3 months
a2) The comission Fee is 3.5% of the final sale while Ebay here can charge you from the triple of this value to 400-500% more.

    b) Highly targeted audience - this is probably the better feature of Etsy, etsy viewers are looking for hand made products (from artisans) and ebay you can get an IT geek , a guy looking for condos , etc, so thats why many sellers on ebay does not have great success to gather clients and better then that traffic.

    c) Etsy has Shipping tracking tools that is great for any buyer, he/she can track the package online in his etsy page.

So Etsy has a huge Potential and converts well, but as anywhere else you will require to promote your page, have a social presence, create a blog , SEO on it , etc, etc...

In your scenario i believe Etsy its the right choice.
