How to become 'Authorized' for Google Places posting

I have numerous clients who want to show up on Google Places....setting up individual accounts is not the issue. The issue is the authorization. Is there a way to become authorized so that I receive the pin on their behalf? I only saw the post card option, no phone call option.... any suggestions?

  • Afhopper,

Unfortunately there is no other way (at least that I know of) to authorize a business as a third party (aside from phone authorization) if all you are afforded is the post card method. I have seen companies that set up place pages for customers and simply notify the customer to watch for the card in the mail. Naturally this is a cumbersome and downright ancient way of doing things but there isn’t much choice.

    Here is their policy,

Hopefully they will come up with a better way some day,

Yup! I do the same thing for our clients also, either they get the 5 digit PIN number mailed to them but sometimes you do have the option to place the call whereby they get it right away once you place the call. Remember if they operate from a residence, google wont send them a pin.
