You're A Kick A$$ Marketer

You see so many threads here...

Your ads suck.
Your writing sucks.
Your product sucks.
Your hairdo sucks.

They're all designed to make you open up the thread and read it.

I was told a long time ago that you catch more flies with honey than with
vinegar.

So here goes...YOU are a kick a$$ marketer.

Doesn't that make you feel GOOD?

It should.

But more importantly...THAT is the kind of positive attitude YOU need to
have if you want to be successful online.

Oh I know what many will say, wanting it doesn't make it so. Sure, you
have to put in the effort and work. But guess what? If you go into each
day saying to yourself...

"I'm never going to get anywhere. Look at this mess. I've been doing this
for 3 months now and nothing. There's no way to make money online. At
least I'll never do it."

Then guess what? You WON'T.

I was a miserable failure for 5 freaking months.

Know what I said to myself and the rest of the world?

"I'll show them all. I WILL be successful if it kills me."

And I was.

Mindset can make or break you.

Don't ever forget it.

      This is a great thread, Steven. You are right that people often DO need encouragement. Yeah, sometimes they also need a kick in the rear. But not always, as you pointed out. Most people WANT to do a good job. Encouragement can go a long way to get them there.

      Steve,

      I love positivity - I'm a very positive person... I surround myself with the things that identify with that outlook. AND, I'm so good at letting negativity go right over my head.

      I fell in love with the famous poem by Rudyard Kipling "IF". It's on my desktop and the words are so influential. If anyone ever needs a little motivation, find it and read it.

      As a matter of fact, here it is:

      IF you can keep your head when all about you
      Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
      If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
      But make allowance for their doubting too;
      If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
      Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
      Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
      And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

      If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
      If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
      If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
      And treat those two impostors just the same;
      If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
      Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
      Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
      And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

      If you can make one heap of all your winnings
      And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
      And lose, and start again at your beginnings
      And never breathe a word about your loss;
      If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
      To serve your turn long after they are gone,
      And so hold on when there is nothing in you
      Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

      If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
      ' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
      if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
      If all men count with you, but none too much;
      If you can fill the unforgiving minute
      With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
      Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
      And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
      Kindest regards,
      Karl.

      "I'll show them all. I WILL be successful if it kills me."
      Those are nearly the exact words I told myself.

      Desire will get you nowhere. Determination will get you somewhere.

      Dreams won't do anything for your bottom line. Taking action will.

      Making excuses for whatever issue you are currently having, is the business equivalent of abortion. It will kill your business before it even has a chance to be born.

      Business Success is rarely an overnight process. Google and Microsoft weren't successful in a matter of months. It took years of brainstorming and planning to develop into what they are today.

      Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and eventually you will get to where you are going.

      Marketing legend Jay Abraham would tell you that the greatest marketing genius alive is your prospect.

      He can tell you everything you need to know to create a marketing system that creates sales if you just ask the right question.

      Now if you spin that around and start looking at your own buying behavior online that means you're a marketing genius too...if you'll just be REALLY observant of what it takes to get you to buy.

      You really can be a kick arse marketer if you're willing to be sensitive to what you're doing, why you're buying, what triggers are working with you and how you move through the buying process.

      Kindest regards,

      Hi Steve....

      It is great to bring this up

      one of my favorite quotes is

      "Failure will never overcome you
      as long as your determination to succeed
      is strong enough"
      -Og Mandido

      Karl had another posted above.

      At the end of the day we all need positive reinforcement
      Unfortunately it is a need that is rarely fullfilled.

      When is the last time you actually gave someone a
      pat on the back for a "true" job well done.

      In the offline world human asset retention is
      crucial. In order to achieve optimal output
      employers need to view their employees as
      assets rather than bodies performing a task.

      Organizations need to structure their
      business as a "learning organization" that
      promote s
      uccessful training through advocacy of
      "Employee Engagement" promoting active
      company involvement to further organizational growth.
      And if you look at the structure of some of the
      most successful companies they harbor
      a version of this business model.

      People need to feel as if they are part of the
      bigger picture rather than the frame that
      holds the picture....stagnant.

      This is achieved through a simple pat on the
      back when a pat on the back is deserved.

      So every now again it is nice to break the
      away from the negativity and be supportive
      vs demoralizing.

      We always need to remember how we
      feel when we get a pat on the back and
      "pay it forward" so to speak when appropriate.

      Great Topic Steve.

    Steven, staying positive and telling yourself positive things can make such a difference.
    What you reflect out, is going to come back around.

    If a person is not positive about what you can do, how are your customers and clients going to feel? They will notice, and usually have less faith in what a person does or sells.

    We can use this offline example. Someone came over today to pick up some things. I had to trail her toddler, as my place is not toddler proof. I gave her toys and tried to keep her occupied. Anytime she did things right, I told her what a good girl she was. Pretty soon her mother had a big smile on her face. Next time I deal with the lady, I think those positive emotions fostered today will come up again.

    Even my repairman here, when he finishes with a repair, I tell him he did a good job ( if it has been good). He seems to have low self esteem. I can see him pick up a little bit after he does work here.

    Our telling ourselves these things and not letting other peoples negativity get us down (past and present )helps each one of us to feel better about ourselves and what we do.
    Better believe it shows up in our work and how we interact with people too.

      Hi,

      you have to have a positive mental attitude & yes this gets you everywhere.

      most successful people didnt just get there overnight it took them years & then you also learn to appreciate this better.

      but you have to be determined, focused to do well & those people always do i think.

        Nice post.

        Positive thinking and doing etc definitely has it's place. Bottom line for me is that I make more money when I'm positive about things. Call it karma or the law of attraction or quantum physics, whatever you want, but it works for me and that's the only evidence I need.

        Hey Steven,

        Great post. There is actually a saying that I live by and do not actually know the original author of this quote, but heard it from a man named Jimmy in the network marketing world.

        "I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed, and the number of times I succeed, is in direct proportion to the number times I can fail and keep trying."

                      Hey Steven,

                      Yet again you post a truism that is often overlooked in the IM arena. What you think about yourself truly reflects what will happen to you. Attitude shapes outcomes, not the other way around.

                      Earlier in my life, I dealt with this issue in how it relates to business. I have read about business since I was young (started investing in the 5th grade!) One day I said, I have read about all these people why not do it. Then the wall of doubt hit me. Was I good enough to be in business? Could I do it?

                      Many many years later, I said "I AM GOING TO MAKE IT...I DON'T KNOW HOW YET BUT I WILL." Sure enough, I went to a conference and now I have a business. Steady and rocking and rolling. Just the way I like it.

                      So Steven, cheers! You are a kick A$$ marketer and I love reading your posts!!! They definitely always make a difference to me and I'm sure to many more than actually post!

                            Nice work!

                            Hi Karl,

                            Do you know this one? -
                            Desiderata

                            Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
                            and remember what peace there may be in silence.

                            As far as possible, without surrender,
                            be on good terms with all persons.
                            Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
                            and listen to others,
                            even to the dull and the ignorant;
                            they too have their story.
                            Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
                            they are vexatious to the spirit.

                            If you compare yourself with others,
                            you may become vain or bitter,
                            for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
                            Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
                            Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
                            it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

                            Exercise caution in your business affairs,
                            for the world is full of trickery.
                            But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
                            many persons strive for high ideals,
                            and everywhere life is full of heroism.
                            Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
                            Neither be cynical about love,
                            for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
                            it is as perennial as the grass.

                            Take kindly the counsel of the years,
                            gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
                            Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
                            But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
                            Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

                            Beyond a wholesome discipline,
                            be gentle with yourself.
                            You are a child of the universe
                            no less than the trees and the stars;
                            you have a right to be here.
                            And whether or not it is clear to you,
                            no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

                            Therefore be at peace with God,
                            whatever you conceive Him to be.
                            And whatever your labors and aspirations,
                            in the noisy confusion of life,
                            keep peace in your soul.

                            With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
                            it is still a beautiful world.

              I do agree with your point though - all the thinking in the world isn't going to get anything done. However, I think there's a difference between POSITIVITY and POSITIVE THINKING, one is a way of life, the other is a conscious mindset. It when you can make positivity a way of life that things just seem to become easier.

              I say SEEM, because they aren't necessarily easier, but we're more likely to deal with obstacles when seen in a positive light.

Regardless of the fact that his tastes and choices were not mainstream, he chose to be himself in public, ignored the catcalls from those hidden amongst the anonymity of the spineless crowd and revelled and delighted in his non-conformity and dared to be different.

                  That guy is a winner on so many levels.

                    Funny how Steven also had the same mentality as I did, I will show them one day, even if it takes me forever, just gotta stay positive, turn negative events into positive actions and do something to make your dreams come true.

    Mindset is a wonderful thing!

    I think it`s easy for negative thoughts to creep in for Newbies
    due to lack of results.I think we`ve all been there at some stage.
    This is a huge factor in failure and demonstrates how powerful
    the mind really is!

    Surrounding yourself with reminders of positivity will create
    the inspiration we all need from time to time.
