If you were a YouTube Star How Would You Make Additional Income?

So one of my best friends is actually a Youtube star and I'm trying to figure out how we can make money together. He has around 200,000 subscribers on Youtube and already has certain merchandises such as t-shirts, hoodies and bracelets already being sold.

I've been browsing around these forums for a bit and have found list building to be very vital to making money. So I believe that we're going to pursue that direction first and then create a product/ebook that we can blast off into our e-mails or tweet the link to more than 100,000 of his active followers as well.

My question that I have is:
Besides physical items, what can you see being a good money making product.

Also his channel is based on comedy skits/ vlogs/ etc. He has a really big and loyal following that absolutely adore him and basically buys whatever he puts out.

Remember also that we are not trying to belittle his reputation by just blasting off PLR's or linking people to clickbank websites haha.

Thanks, let me know!

I believe he signed up through districtlines, but I heard that you don't make much from that source. Is this correct?

I haven't heard of them, but it sounds as though you haven't written up any form of contract with a proper merchandise supplier who's going to offer you a due cut of sales. I'd suggest that to be the first step whether you do it directly or through an agent.

I wouldn't let a merchandise supplier who only offers you a tiny cut of sales cash in on a well established reputation.

How about some kind of product (like a report or video course) on how to get YouTube subscribers?

I mean... if he's built a following of 200K+, it seems like he'd know a thing or 2 about that.

Can't blame the other poster for bringing up the Youtube Partner program, you asked how to make money of Youtube and there wasn't one mention that your friend was already signed up to it.

Lol don't post just to post troll.

Apparently common sense isn't so common, read my thread title. "ADDITIONAL INCOME" additional means to add onto money you already make.

True, that was a pretty bad way of responding to someone who actually took the time to reply to you. How was he supposed to automatically know that your friend was already in the program.

    - product sales, as you already do I believe
    - digital downloads
    - a website with ads ........
    - a forum / web 2.0 site that collects some user information will make website more valuable
    - sponsorships for product placement

You want to stay on point with your audience however. People are easy to train to get in the habit of some things but it's not so easy to convert them to what's unrelated or spammy

I could name more but i'm tired.

And a lot is based off WHO YOU KNOW when you talk about realer money. I have a lot less subscribers than your friends but i'm willing to bet i've made a lot more money per view through my associations than your friend, from the sounds of things.

Is he signed to a media company?

Is he using the mobile view exploit ?

All those things effect outcome of income.

Lol, ain't trollin' mate... Just sayin' thats all.

And if it's common sense, why is the very first response bringing up Youtube Partner Program?

...And I'm pretty sure if that guy wasn't gonna bring it up, somebody else would of.

You should really give as much information as possible, no matter how obvious it is to you. This way you'd avoid answering the obvious and just get the answers you want.

Good luck getting your answer anyway

Get someone to sponsor his show. Lots of channels do it, it's just a matter of finding a related offer.
If that doesn't work out, try promoting related offers via your affiliate link.

I would suggest keeping it real, though. If there has to be an ad, make it cool, so people are not instantly turned off.

Get paid with Adsense Ads that show up on the videos. You'll get paid, but Youtube will get a cut of the profits too.
