What is the best way in adding clickable links in ebook pdf fille?

Greetings Warriors,

We are planning to add a live link at the footer of our ebook pdf pages. I thought when we add a link in our doc file and then convert it into pdf, the link would still work but I was wrong, at least to my own experience.

Any suggestions?

Your help will be appreciated.

All The Best,
G.B.

The last method works always. At least for me and I'm writing ebooks since 2005.
    Thanks for the input, mate.

Yes, I also hyperlinked it. We are suing MS Word and I did it as a footer.

    Hi there,

I've seen this a few times where the hyperlinks haven't converted in to the PDF.

Try using a different PDF creator - PrimoPDF for example of another one. It's typically the PDF software you are using not working properly.

    All the best

There was a thread about this recently. Although it is talking about Word, the technique suggested should work for Open Office as well:

Incidentally, as far as I can tell, if you make a link in the header or footer section in Word, it will only stay clickable when converted to PDF if it is a raw URL and not using Anchor text. Perhaps Open Office works the same way?

Are you inputting the "http://" at the beginning of your hyperlink? Try that.

Okay buddy, I am going to download and install it. I'll try this.

The newer Microsoft Office Suites can do that as well but I do rarely use them.

How about uploading a small sample file to Dropbox or the like as .doc and I'll take a look at it?

Or you try one of plenty PDF creator tools out there - just be aware that most of them are not free and do not always work as you'd expect them to do :-)
Thanks for the offer, man. Okay, let me see and I'll give the dropbox link.

If I won't add the link on the footer, I'll be adding the url link on each of the pages and there's a tendency that the alignments will be ruined.
