Default Ok, So Why Do Wordtracker and Google Keywords Give Such A Big Difference

Hi Warriors,

I am currently researching a new keyword, and I found one that
shows in google as 4400 searches in February and in wordtracker
it does not even show.

The competition is small enough only 10 results on google when
putting the keyword in quotes. But who am I to trust, google or
wordtracker.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Naithan

Unfortunately, there is no real way to know.. but seeing that Google is at the top of pretty much everything right now, I would go for their stats

Here we go again!
This is perhaps an ever ending issue for internet marketers, Just like the quest for best Article Spinning Tool!!

Anyway, for all its worth take my advice....Most of the IMers prefer Wordtracker as compared to Google Adwords. This would explain why they pay upwards of $400 to go with WT rather than using the FREE Google adwords tool. Moreover, If you search online then there is also a post as to why Google stats apply too Adwords but are completely irrelevant for SEO purposes.
If you have come across the Stompernet videos then there was one specifically dealing with this issue and they suggested going with WT over Keyword Discovery and Google Tool. Infact to quote their line, bidding on keywords from Google Keyword tool is like "handing over your wallet to Google and saying take what you want".

Thanks for all your advise.
@Bhupinder Ok I don't know what is wrong with you, if you came out of bed wrong or something, all I am asking is this: I have a keyword with 10 results on google. And I want to know who is right. the difference between 4400 searches a month and 0, nada, nothing is BIG. And BTW comparing article spinners and keyword research is a pretty big jump m8.

Do you often stray from tasks? Do you not get enough sleep? Are the Days to short?

Hi Naithan

I use both tools and i have noticed that they can be different. I recently wrote a blog post that came under a low value keyword on wordtracker

best celebrities to follow on twitter

and i get over 25 clicks a day just from this keyword yet its showing up no results of wordtracker and i have many similar words that contribute to my blogging traffic with no daily searches with WT. So it can be very strange indeed.

For the trusting issue i use a number of different word calculators but generally stick with word tracker and usually aim for the words that get a minimum of ten clicks a day then i tend it appear on the search engines much quicker than using the highly competitive words.

The Google stats are skewed by people doing keyword research on the
keyword you are also researching. I presume that the OP is referring to
the Google Adwords programme, which is known to have skewed results.
