PayPal Accepts Certain Debit Cards !!(India)

Hi friends,

In my previous post i mentioned that PayPal does not accept Debit cards and it was agreeded and confirmed by many members...

But i came to know that 2 persons are using debit card to get verified in PayPal and the thing is they got clearly verified without any hassel....

When i contacted them to mention the name of the banks they were using...

One said "Axis Bank" and the other "ICICI Bank"....

So any person holding account in the same bank..

plz do check and say the results....

If PayPal is accepting debit cards from these two banks then it would be a boon to the paypal users in India...

Thanks for your time...

I know for a fact that certain debit cards work with paypal. I am using a HDFC International Debit Card and works smoothly for me.

Earlier I used to pay my bills by creating netsafe virtual cards but now I use my debit card to pay for domains, hosting and my autoresponders.

There are other banks who provide debit cards that work with paypal and few of them are ICICI and AXIS Bank.

I think you have to have an international debit card to work with paypal and it should be registered with Verified With Visa and MasterCard Secure Code.

I don't think its about luck. Like I said, most of international debit cards work with paypal provided that it is registered with verified with visa or mastercard secure code.

Totally agree with you. My BOB debit card is also verified by Paypal. There is no issue if your card is visa or mastercard secure code.

Here I have a question to all of you friend. If I go for any transaction (receiving or transferring money) within India then there is any issue with Debit card which is Paypal verified.

Or for this I have to go for Credit Card.

          Please help.

There isn't any problem as long as your debit card is International Debit Card. It is explicitly mentioned on Debit that its International Debit Card. As far as I know new ICICI debit cards are international debit cards , i also know one person using Allahabad Banks debit card for paypal.. it is possible because that card is also international Debit card. (All Debit cards of same bank are not international, but IF ITS AN INTERNATIONAL DEBIT CARD THEN IT WILL BE MENTIONED ON YOUR CARD EXPLICITLY , DONT EVEN TRY TO LINK ANY DEBIT CARD TO PAYPAL IF IT IS NOT INTERNATIONAL one, it will just waste your time and efforts )

PayPal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    India[edit]

As of March 2011,[citation needed] PayPal made changes to the User Agreement for Indian users to comply with Reserve Bank of India regulations. Notable changes to the agreement were:
    • Any balance or future payments must not be used to buy goods or services but transferred to a bank account within 15 days of the receipt of payment.
    • Credit/Debit cards must be used to pay through PayPal.[citation needed]
The per transaction limit had been set to USD 3000, since October 14, 2011. However, on 29 July 2013 PayPal has increased the per transaction limit to USD 10,000.[51] This brings the per transaction limit for India in line with the restrictions imposed by PayPal on most other countries.
PayPal wants to make India an incubation center for the company's employee engagement policies. In 2012, PayPal hired 120 people for its offices in Chennai and Bangalore. PayPal plans to recruit 1000 candidates for its Bangalore Development center.[52]

    From people I know.

    Debit cards that ARE working:
    ICICI
Axis (Some say this doesn't always work. I suspect it may be the user is not using the same exact name in PP as they are on the card or they are entering something incorrectly in PP. Just a hunch.)

    Debit cards NOT working:
    PNB
    SBI
    BOB
    Bank of Maharashtra
    HDFC
    Union Bank of India
    Vijaya

Well I had a ICICI Bank Debit Card that not worked earlier.
It is very strange coz as per Indian RBI Regulation no Debit Card will work without Verified by VISA or 3D Secure in any Online Transaction.

Although I use a SBI credit card, you can always make a virtual card through SBI internet banking platform. Its very easy when you don't have a credit card for transactions. And yes SBI debit card also works with PayPal.

But it shouldn't be too difficult to get a credit card. And it shouldn't be an issue either when you're doing Internet Marketing.

it does not matter that the card is of SBI or ICICI or AXIS bank the only thing it matters is the card is International Debit card or not

I tried using SBI virtual card online but even that card didn't worked.
So bottom line is SBI is pain in ass for IM, choose ICICI or Axis bank for IM'ing
