Is Data Entry Still Alive?

Having read quite a few WSO-s on making the day through telecommuting, I have always thought data entry might be on one hand always needed and on the other hand a quick solution in cash-demanding situations. However, I never found the proper source for such project. Do you guys have some advice where someone who is willing to do the monotonous work of entering/uploading/sorting data should have a look?

    The best place to outsource data entry is sites like Odesk, Freelancer and Elance. The second 2 being a bit more expensive.

    You do need to be careful though as there are quite a few time wasters on odesk. Saying that i have also developed some of my best long term working relationship with people i originally hired on odesk.

    Sure you can do this sort of thing. There are job adverts. If you're looking for a job in this field, then check your local job sites. I see plenty of data entry listings each month...

    You can find some folks who'd still be willing to work on data entry stuff. You can in fact begin here on WF at the Warriors For Hire section, for sure you will find some takers.

    Data entry will always be alive. If nothing else then for basic seo and cold calling via emails etc. Assuming that the email is basically copy paste.

    Most data entry sites prove futile. I don't know the reason for that. I prefer microjobs to data entry jobs.

    Are we allowed to mention other boards on here? I'm not sure so I won't mention it directly by name....but there is a board that caters to moms who work from home that does a great job of breaking down what is legit and what is not. Data entry is indeed legit, it's the company you work for that you need to worry about.

    odesk, freelancer, elance, they are all legit and alive with data entry jobs. Just google something like "outsourcing sites" to find more.

    Data Entry is still working but not all of them are real, there are so many spammers. Always do a secure deal from reputed platforms or sources.

    Watch out for companies that want to give you a great deal for Data entry. I've heard to many stories of people being burnt by these spammers.

    I always find it good that I have one person in-house in my company taking care of all of that and I can always work side by side with them to get the best possible result
