Awesome buddy.. keep piling away.. one thing I hate about amazon is that it is extremely hard to list the products.

Ebay makes it easy to list but they have way too many restrictions about words you can't use.. they are very quick to remove the products.

Glad to hear about your success story! keep it up.

We've all been there David. Without action, nothing gets done. Just keep plugging away and make sure you have direction, and the right methodology. If you believe in the end goal, and work hard every day to get closer to that goal, you will succeed.

Keep going, it's often a numbers game with Amazon. More clicks = more sales. Keep up the good work!

    Everything has a beginning....

Just curious, how many clicks to get that first sale? I currently have a real low conversion rate, but my traffic isn't targeted at all.

I'm not really sure. I only have 13 clicks, but some of them are my own clicks I think from when I was testing my site. I haven't really even done much optimizing or anything yet, I've just been trying to get the site looking good.
I don't know anything about html and site design so it's kind of frustrating sometimes, but I'm getting there!
Oh yeah, how do you "thank" someone?

Guess they already had the cup, huh? Too bad...Amazon are masters at the up-sell.

Keep pushin'! I've created a lot of sites promoting Amazon products and always get sales, but always a "trickle" of low commissions. I think my biggest check there was between $200-300 and that was from a lot of sales! haha...

I'm working on figuring that out actually. Obviously, promoting higher priced items would be one way to go about things, but I'm going to look to the Amazon masters to find out exactly how to crush it there.

Anyone know who the Amazon master affiliates are?

Not sure if I'm a master, but I do about 4k a month spread across a few accounts.

Ha, thanks man, noticed you are from Vancouver, just spent a weekend there, had the best breakfast of my life at a place called Twisted Fork Bistro, beatiful city.

Anyways, I started a couple of years ago with Amazon, was using Yahoo Answers for a while and after a couple of months was making about $250 a month on auto pilot. Since, I have tried many many ways including making QR codes with my affiliate link and sticking them in random places (airport restroom stalls, airplane trays, bars, on the floor where people stand in line, etc.) Forum posting, youtube videos, twitter, rss feeds, facebook. Other more nefarious things as well, even got a couple of accounts banned.

I can't share my main method, I stumbled on it about a year ago, now I "work" about 1 hour each week and just watch the traffic click through. It only converts at a bout 1% but out of a couple hundred thousand clicks that amounts to a lot of sales. The best part is, I don't even have a website.

So if you have more than one niche/site, is it better to have separate accounts?

I have multiple accounts because once you start making any "serious" money Amazon will look for a reason to ban you. Just do a quick google search of Amazon affiliate scam or something like that and you will start to read the horror stories. I try to keep each account under $500 a month.

lol. This is great. I just made my first bucks with Amazon this week also. I wasn't sure on how to start so I placed Halloween costume ads on Craigslist. I was surprised on the results. I made $11.73 in commissions. Not bad for a trial run. However, as a newbie, not sure if it's worth building websites to make money with Amazon. Not sure with all the competition out there if it's worth it. Is it possible to make bank? Any affiliates here doing any good?

That is the great thing about Amazon. You could be promoting a product, but instead they buy another high priced item and you get commission.

Nicely Done! Probably somebody will come in and say, "What, $0.51??! Are you nuts, you can't buy a beer with this..."

Well, that's how you start! The first dollar is the most difficult one. Once you know how to make a dollar, you will know how to make $10, $100, $1,000, etc.

Keep doing what works and you'll expand before you know it :-)

I'll never forget the cup onoodles since I was targeting completely different stuff! I hope I get to come back here and give advice to others like I have gotten from some of you.
Oh yeah, and I just checked out some pretty competitive keywords and my google+ page is second! Is that normal?
And one more thiing, is it proper to thank everyone in a thread or should I just say "THANKS"!
