I am really starting to see amazing progress with my amazon niche site, that being said I think my conversion rate is pretty low! Yesterday I had a 68% CTR from all visitors (according to analytics and the number of product clicks) but no sales. My Conversion is around 2.4% for October, but it's starting to fall fast! I am not really sure how to get this to jump back up. Advice please?

PS It's an authority site, I write niche in the title

Just keep plugging away, keep increasing the clicks, don't worry about the sales, they will pick up, especially given that we are entering the holiday shopping season.

I've been with Amazon Associates for a couple years now, I used to stress about the conversion rate as well. To be honest I don't even look at it anymore, I just focus on getting as many clicks as possible.

The only thing I would recommend is to make sure your amazon ads match up to the content of your ads or products. So if you are talking about fishing or selling fishing gear, you need amazon ads with lots of varieties of fishing equipment for sale. I don't make much on amazon, but it is extra money.

What niche are you targeting? It might be the time of the year also, if you are targeting something like camping gear or something similar.

Do you mean the site which is in your sig? If so, the reviews don't have links to amazon until you scroll down the page, so adding a buy now button at the top of the page could help put readers more in a buying mode. Chris Guthrie said that 5% of his sales come from buy now buttons.

I have heard a lot of people say that buy onw buttons make you look like you are just trying to sell though...

You don't have to use a button, but a product image near the top that links to Amazon or a break and a line of text like "Check the latest prices at Amazon Now" should be "above" the fold. You want people who land on your page and are just looking to skim and click to end up on amazon.

Amazon is a trusted seller. You shouldn't feel that you need to "trick" visitors into clicking through to Amazon. If they click an image and go to Amazon, but hit the "back" button to finish reading the review, the 24 hr cookie has been set.

From what I have read- Amazon banners and buttons get far fewer clicks than images and in-line text. As you said, they probably appear to be ads or too "sales-y". But linking the product image and a line of text or two near the top will help CTR.

I don't think most internet surfers think that. Maybe if your content provided no useful info they would, but if the review is useful and has a buy now button then it isn't a problem.

Every review I publish to my Amazon review sites contains a buy button. A single well-placed button can be very effective. Just don't overdo it.

That said, my text links appear to far out-perform my buttons (just recently started tracking the differences).

Ive also had difficulties with my amazon niche site. Don't get a ton of traffic, but over 100 clicks this month and 0 orders. My all-time conversion is around 1.5%

Try using text links added to the product name text.

Be sure to add links to the image(s) in your post that go directly to the amazon item or category. It is amazing how often pictures in my articles are clicked.

I think my big issue is that I am using the same tracking code for most of my pages, and only one tracking code on the entire page, I need to start tracking a little closer I think

When testing for effective ad placement, you need to track every image ad, every text link. You should have a text link in the first paragraph of the review. Call attention to it like this: "For more detailed specs., click here." The visitor needs to be subtly directed to action.

Make sure you have a link, or "buy now" type of button in your copy too. You need to sell the visitor on the product, then take them to the sales page while their in the buying mindset.

Nice site! I want to start creating clickbank review sites. When did you launch the site? Have you made any sales?

I think the best recommendation is that you need to add some more text links to the products in your reviews. If it is the site in your signature, then when I clicked over to read a couple reviews, there were not any links to click through until the end. I think you should sprinkle those links in somewhere in the 1st or 2nd paragraphs to get more clickthroughs.

2% does seem kind of low, but don't worry too much about that yet unless it is a trend over months. If that is the case, then you could just be in a niche with low conversion rates.
