Quick Tip to Save You Hours of Searching on Google!

Here's a share that may help you narrow your Google searches right at the outset when you're hunting for and researching various topics.

I find it especially helpful when looking for "how to" information.

It's easy as falling off a log.

Here's an example. My wife recently asked me to prune a particularly uncooperative little tree we have in our front yard. I know exactly ZERO about pruning trees.

Google to the rescue!

I type into the Google search bar: (1) my keyword or phrase, (2) the file type I want, and (3) the information source I want.

Here's want the search "string" looks like:

tree pruning filetype:pdf site:gov

Here's a little further explanation about this string. I'm looking for a pdf file that I can print off and take with me out to the yard so I can read along as I chop. Also, pdf's tend to be less fluff and hype and more meat, in my opinion, than most paid ebooks or web pages - and these are all free to read. I'm also interested in dot gov sites because I believe they are typically pretty authoritative and usually written by niche professionals.

Here are the first ten Google SERPs (sorry, that's search results pages if you're wondering) that all happen to be free pdfs:

1- TREE CUTTING & TRIMMING INFORMATION - Utah ...

2- HOW to Prune Trees - USDA Forest Service

3- The Basics of Tree Pruning - SDDA

4- Homeowner's Guide to Tree Care - State of Oregon

5- Choosing a Tree Care Professional Properly - The City of San Antonio

6- Proper Pruning And Tree Care For Trees In - The City of San Antonio

7- Tree Pruning - City of Springfield, MO

8- Proper Tree Pruning [PDF] - Wisconsin Department of Natural ...

9- Pruning Guidelines - City of Bellevue

10- Pruning Shade And Ornamental Trees - Mississippi Forestry ...

Why am I sharing this and what does it have to do with Internet marketing?

I hope you're not asking that question because you should be able to understand the power and value that searching like this will give you as you apply it to finding content and ideas for articles, reports, blog posts, and even products.

And guess what? Most government produced content is in the PUBLIC DOMAIN. If that doesn't get your thinker smokin' you need to have your pulse checked.

Do you use Facebook ? Then you can make money just by inviting people to a Facebook group ! It's called the Instant Income System. How cool is that?

Thanks, very helpful for SEO backlink building as well as guest post / guest article development. Now, if google is only so smart as to list contrary sites then that would be truly something else, no?

I never would have thought of that. That does remind me the need to prune our tree before the winter hits.
