Should I add a squeeze page on blog?

Is it a good idea to use a squeeze page on my blog?

I have just set up a blog in the niche of women's fashion and all of my traffic is coming from pinterest (About 180 visitors a day at the minute). I offer a free gift
for opting in which is an e-book "100 fashion tips". My aim is to build a list so I can send them
offers...maybe I don't need the blog??

My opt-in rate is pretty low. I haven't started split testing as of yet. I was thinking of adding a squeeze page first. At the minute I only have a pop-over opt in which is only getting around 9% optin rate.

Is there anywhere I can get squeeze page templates to edit the text and use?

Any other advice would help too!

Cheers

I say yes it you are getting that many visitors, especially if you are offering something in return for the opt in.

You can use an opt-in form on the right hand side of your blog, above the fold. (Most people are lazy and if they don't have to move their mouse too far they won't ) There are plenty of free templates available on the net. You could use a basic one to start with . You can design it within your auto responder and just past the code into your site.

And why do you have to have a lot of visitors in order to start your list? Why is it not recommended? I think if you have a blog you should be trying to build a list period.

If you're not building a list you're not in business. A squeeze page is not the only way to build a list. I've never used one in my life and my Aweber account is pretty full, but a list must be consistently built if you plan on being in business for any length of time.

Squeeze pages are great, you should always think about building a list. As everyone says "The Money is in the LIST" - because it is. You have traffic right there just ready to be used. Hope that helped on your decision.

You could try and test it. I believe if you are offering a free download and you put a Squeeze Page it would be likely that they would optin. It would be cool if you build your list.

I've never done much "traditional" list building but I do have pretty large lists in a few different niches. I believe that it's always a good idea to point to a capture page first before anything else.

It's a page that asks for a name and email (sometimes just email, sometimes more information) in exchange for something of value.

The idea is that if you get the people on the list you can market to them more than once and therefor increase the chances of them buying.

          Yes and No.

The form they'll see will be similar for an email submit CPA offer. But CPA offers are all different. So yes, the form will be similar to an email submit offer.

But No, because with CPA the person who drives the traffic to the page will get paid for the submit. If you are building your own list, technically you are not getting paid per lead. Actually you are usually taking a small hit on the lead in the beginning.

After a while you'll be able to figure out what's called the DPL or Dollar Per Lead. Once you figure this out then you'll be able to spend as much as you want on traffic (as long as it's less than the DPL) and you'll always make money.

The key is to figure out what that DPL is for a particular traffic source.
