3,000 subscribers... how do I get to know them? What am I missing?

Hey guys,

I previously posted before on how I've nearly hit 3,000 subscribers. I asked before what I was missing in earning an income off them.

Well what I heard was that I should engage them and get to know them! I've gone through interviews where successful bloggers treated them as friends and started getting to know them.

I think I'm getting there... but is there a specific way in engaging your audience?

I have many emails from readers thanking me for my blog... asking me questions for real advice, some even going on and on for pages... telling me all about their lives.

I feel like I'm on the right track, but is there something I'm missing? How do I feel the gap between engaging my audience to reaching a full-time income?

Thanks guys! Would love to hear from your experiences.

I save all of the e-mails that I receive from my subscribers
and look for their pain points and get greater clarity on what
    they're looking to achieve.

I use that information to then craft more relevant e-mails,
sales messages and get ideas for new products.

So, ask yourself, how can this problem or desire be turned
into a product that I can sell or recommend?

I also find surveys useful to get greater clarity on what people
    want.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

You have to look at your email list long term

Too many people are short sighted when it comes to list building

A good way to get them to engage is getting them to leave comments on your blog in your niche if you have one

Also you can do surveys asking them what there biggest problems are in exchange for a quality product or a high quality report (you must offer them something in return for this otherwise your results will be terrible)

Quality info with regular communication is a good recipe to build a good relationship with your subs

Surveys definitely. Nothing beats people telling you exactly how they feel.

Use a free service such as Survey Monkey and frame it as though you are trying to help your subscribers. Tell them you want to service their needs better and in order to do so you need to know exactly what they want. They will tell you.

Frank Kern sent out one of these emails just yesterday. His email was short and to the point. He basically said he had some plans to help his list even more so but wanted to know exactly what products they want and need. He then sent people over to a short survey.

You can bet if Frank is using it... it works.

This is also why people will often tell you to try and work in markets that are familiar to you such as your hobbies and the like. That way you already have an understanding of what the market wants and needs because you are one of them.

The biggest thing I can recommend is feedback. If you can't get them to buy, at least get them involved by sharing free information that can educate them and get them to give you feedback about their thoughts and insights on your blog, facebook page, or on your website.

Something I have personally learned from Frank Kern:

Get on video! talk to them face to face.

    Watch what happens.

Try being honest with your subscribers. Share a bit about yourself. Not just the good but the bad as well. Tell them how you have struggled as well as how you have succeeded. Once they hear about how you are are a real person just like them, they will begin to trust you and will be more likely to take your recommendation when it comes to purchasing. We are dealing with people here to relax and ease it

I recommend sharing some things about you and your life.

You are in an enviable position - you have a good sized list and they are interested in what you have to say. Those are usually the hardest things to accomplish in list building.

Your next step is building rapport and showing them your human side ... ;-)

      Cool man cool!

I think I'm already good at that. Readers complimented me on how I write like I'm talking to them as a friend.

How do you think I can cross the gap from here to earning an income with the list?

Hold question and answer webinars with your subscribers. Get to know them this way and interact with them.

Set up a Facebook Group just for your subscribers where you can post good stuff and where they can post questions, shares, etc.

    That's just two ways...
