Best advice someone ever gave me. This was at a point in my life, when I was not making any money, actually tell I lie I was made around 40 dollars in a 5 month period! My aunt was ill and in hospital and I needed to raise a lot of money urgently for my family. So I contacted one of the gurus as I had been on their course but still I didn't make money. I thought I were being ripped off.

I emailed this mentor and explained the situation. The mentors reply 'You are not working hard enough.

'You should work so hard that you tell your aunt "Sorry, I need to work" when she asks you to visit. Im serious. My dad had a heart attack, my business fell Ill because of my two trips to the hospital. I don't mean to sound harsh, but the only two other things you do besides working is sleep for 6 hours and eat (While you are working)'

Do not shave, do not shower. '

This at the time felt like such a let down! I was frustrated and angry and still made no money. Months later I came that to this answer and just starred at this for days. It took a mindset shift for me to work out that this is the most benefical answer that they could have possibly provided. WHY? Because, I had been brought into this concept that internet marketers don't work as hard or entering the wrong markets , completing tasks that didn't make me any money.

There after I took action. That moment and jumped on various marketing venues and put the work in untill I could feel the pain. PAIN meant progress for me.. I made sales, however now I automate a lot. The moral of this situation is that you need to work your ass off untill you can't afford not to.

Couldn't imagine telling a member of my family that money was more important to me than they are, especially when they are seriously ill in hospital.

Here's the problem with that mindset...if you
do this...you may or may not live long enough
      to regret that decision.

I had to deal with the consequences of this...
      *skip family get together* mindset.

      You see...it works...it really does...but are
you ready to pay the price and the toll it'll
take on your mind, body...and soul?

      Are you?

      I thought I was, too. Until I did it...succeeded
      ...and failed.

      I succeeded financially...and failed everywhere
      else that EQUALLY matters.

For me, the key is simply...*balance*.

If you make all that money...and you drove every
      one away obsessive behaviour...

      ...who wins?

      ...who lose?

Anyway, pick your poison. True, you may reach
your financial goals faster...but are you willing
      to pay the heavy price?

I dont think you need to work THAT hard to make money online. To the point of telling your ailing aunt "sorry i have to work?" Come on... thats ridiculous advice. You could do mediocre marketing efforts, and 10 years later be making $5k - $10k a month online. Put yourself on a marketing strategy and follow it.

I do believe that work is the key to success. HOWEVER, if your dad is in the hospital - you will never get that time back. You will have your whole life to work, if your time with family is limited, spend it with them.

If your family can spare you, however, I agree with the advice you were given. And by work I don't mean to spend your time on the internet, be efficient - make a plan. Work smart.

Interesting mindset. Depressing for those of us who have day jobs, though. Sacrifices need to me made, sure, but what's the point of being successful if you can't spend time around the ones that you love.

Pain sucks... that is, unless you're into that kind of thing.

I guess I am in possession of a different mindset but I would happily throw my marketing efforts to one side to spend some quality time with a sick loved one. When it comes to supporting a family, it brings a different focus to the equation. Your situation sounds like a difficult one - I feel for you and wish you the very best!
