ClickBank vendors stealing your commissions?

I wanted to monetize one of my websites with ClickBank products

I found a product I could use and added my ClickBank ID

Instead of putting the details on my website, I decided to try it out first

Using my ID I loaded the page into my browser

Lo and behold a pop up appeared offering me 5 free recipes which I filled in

I then received 5 e-mails with a recipe with a link to the main e-book

Not with my ID but direct to the vendor

So are ClickBank vendors now stealing affiliates commissions?

This is not the first time I have come across this!

Anyone got a suggestion?

Thanks

    The downside of affiliate marketing...

There are a few things you can do...a script like Covert Links, I believe allows you to make a copy of the merchants page in PHP, then remove the autoresponder code from the page. However, some merchants my frown on this! Use at your own risk.

Another, use at your own risk...is creating your own sales page for the merchants product and direct link to the CB checkout page.

I've done this in the past and some merchants will chew you out for it..where others will thank you and ask if you need anything else. Go figure, different strokes, different folks.

Also, I usually don't promote products that have an exit chat agent installed either...some do pass through the affiliate link, but many do not. Just another thing to watch for.

It would only be a problem if the vendor entered another affiliate link. If it is just a link back to the website you will still get the credit.

This is the reason why I don't have an opt in box on my sales page. It just scares all the affiliates away.

I've tried signing up for an affiliate account on the affililiate sign up page as uposed to getting the hop link from click bank... be carefull.. If the affiliate sign up doesn't insert your ID in the middle of the link and only ads it to the end, you will probably get ripped off. Try ordering from yourself to test... if you are not listed as the affiliate at the bottom of the sales order you have been had!!

Make it so that your site will "remember" their affiliate ID in your follow up emails, your exit chat thingie, etc. Basically just go out of your way to ensure that your affiliates get that commission.
      guys - they use cookies.
You will still get the sale as long as a different affiliate link is not used in those follow-ups.

Generally, you'll want to avoid any merchants that use these tactics.

This include autoresponder follow-ups that contain their OWN affiliate links. This one often catches affiliates out.
