  Conduit.com Community Toolbar pays you $1.30 per 1000 downloads if the user is active. This is only US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Other countries pay less. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Expect to make $1000 for 1000 downloads. CPI or Cost-Per-Install generally pays about $1 per conversion.

Why specifically 1000 installs though? Why not 500 or 1500? Affiliate networks usually have a minimum like $50 bucks or something which they payout on anything above that balance.

  As the software owner, you can inject banner ads on any webpage visited at any time, you can replace Google PPC ads and Facebook ads and put your own in there. You can also display pop up or pop under windows whenever you want. As a toolbar you can also get search traffic where Search companies like Bing or Google will pay you for people using the search. If you are going to be shady and willing to break the law you can cookie stuff, also pass spyware, malware etc to use computing power or steal information.

Fileice offers a decent rate for your downloads. But it is not that easy to get accepted to that site.
