What makes for a long title, makes for a short post.

Do you take PLR, rewrite it into your own product, then put it on CB to get affiliates to promote it?

I personally don't, I prefer to create the product myself or pay someone to create it.

The reason being that PLR is often junk. It is written with a word count in mind and is normally filled with filler.

That said, if you can add some value to the PLR when you rewrite it, I think you could easily make a decent product out of it.

Not a good way to make the product really YOURS.

PLR are typically full of very general coverage of a topic, I like to always come down heavier on specific, practical, first-hand experience in a "how-to" or informational product.

I have used PLR and public domain content on occasion for 1-chapter where I want to give an informational overview - but never more than 20% or so of my product.

For example, I recently developed an infoproduct that outlined a Yoga program that addressed a 5-pillar systems for improving success and self-confidence. 90% oif the product was written by myself and other Yoga and success trainers - but for the one introductory chapter to Yoga and Meditation techniques, history and terminology - I relied on public domain work.

The key to any successful info product is to follow these steps...

      1. Uncover and identify what ultimate goal your market want
      2. Understand the challenges they have reaching that outcome
      3. Develop a solution that will help them reach their outcome that improves
on what is already out there
      4. Differentiate your information (packaging, support, approach to the topic, etc...)
      5. Outline your info product according to #3 & #4 - this will tell you exactly the information you need
      6. Decide what you will research, write and what you will outsource, try and find from PLR, public domain, etc...

Sure, developing the content yourself (or outsourcing to an expert) may cost a little more or take a few extra weeks, but the reward will be MUCH sweeter in the end.

Not necessarily. But if you spot high quality PLR product, rewrite it completely with some of your own researched high quality content. Even put some of it on to audio,an audio course. Put it on some videos. You could sell it on Clickbank with affiliates. It depends on the quality of the final product.

I like to create my own product but it doesn't mean this method won't work.

  • OK> I was just wondering based on a thread I read where people were talking about repackaging PLR and selling it.

I was just trying to figure out the format they put it in, in order to monetize it.

    Thanks

PLR is great for a subject background introduction.... but most PLR is not very specific and DEFINATELY not giving those nuggets of information that people want to see in your products.. the ones that your product bullet points are referring to....!

I use PLR as bonus products and cheap products, but I wouldn't sell it on clickbank

There is an awesome video course by Jason Fladlien PLR Secrets or something like that,
he tells you how to improve decent PLR products to rewrite them in a better format and get better ideas from the PLR products, plus his answer the question format makes it really fast to create hot products.

I will come down on the other side of this. I have SOME plr that is every bit as good, if not better, then MOST products I've bought (in IM).

Heck, Andrew Fox says reselling a PLR product on CB about adsense was the cornerstone of getting him to where he is at today (actually, it may have just been a product he got resell rights to).

Of course, this isn't normal. I have a ton of plr and resell products that i think is useless.

It's important to realize that simply putting something on CB does not mean anyone is going to promote it for you. That is a big myth - look at how many CB products have almost non-existant gravity.

To answer your specific question - no. I've never come across a single PLR product that would be good enough to *just* rewrite and put on CB. I wouldn't mind using some good PLR as a basis for a product though.
