Best ways to drum up customers for new ecommerce site???

I'm helping a friend with the launch of an ecommerce site in a hobby niche. The whole store maybe sells 75 items, but they're fairly high PPU at about $300 on average.

Any ideas how to promote/drive new customers? I've already done SEO for the site, but would like IM ideas that are outside the typical SEO box of thinking.

      I hear Pinterest is the best place to get buyer traffic, except that its female dominated. So maybe not so good if its a guys hobby.

    Use facebook ads to target people interested in the niche. You can create an ad that targets people who like/follow an authority in the niche.

    I get tons of ads about working for yourself because I follow/like Tim Ferris.
