'Hijacking' YouTube videos

Instead of making your own content for YouTube you can take the option of buying out or renting accounts from others. Then you stick your relevant affiliate link underneath the video and take advantage of the traffic.

Target accounts that get over 30,000 views a month as you want established traffic sources. You might be thinking that the cash outlay to purchase or rent others' videos may be out of your price range but many video hijackers are picking up bargains - for as little as $20.

Suggesting a joint venture can be a great strategy too. Some YouTube videos have huge traffic but are not being monetized. Offer some of the profits from your marketing efforts.

How does YouTube feel about this? Is it OK in their TOS?

If you actually buy somebody's asset then it is yours to use as you wish, right? A bit like buying someone else's website if they flip it. Where is the problem here?

This is not new, does the rounds every now and then.
As far as Youtube TOS, not sure but if i had to guess,
they would not be happy about it...

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I have a plugin that lets you customize the video. Set a start point, a stop point, put a watermark, paypal button and the works.

For this reason I am very cautious of affiliate links in YouTube.

    Taken from YouTube TOS:
You agree not to use the Service for any of the following commercial uses unless you obtain YouTube's prior written approval:
    • the sale of access to the Service;
    • the sale of advertising, sponsorships, or promotions placed on or within the Service or Content; or
    • the sale of advertising, sponsorships, or promotions on any page of an ad-enabled blog or website containing Content delivered via the Service, unless other material not obtained from YouTube appears on the same page and is of sufficient value to be the basis for such sales.
The second bullet point is the reason I always recommend:

    1. Using The Video to Review The Product

    2. But then send the traffic back to your site, and then let your webpages do the selling.

I know some will disagree, and say affiliate links and redirects to the sales page is fine, but I have seen too many accounts get suspended (including some of my own) for linking directly to a product.

What has my location got to do with anything? I got this idea from Mark Anastasi actually. Should I let him know that you think he is 'shallow' John?
