But you can't just write an article or two and let it there. There's plenty more work behind it to actually make money from a blog- you need to get it submitted where it gets found. You need to link it to other blogs/sites in your niche to exchange traffic. You might want to get some videos edited for every article you publish to bring in YouTube traffic too.

Otherwise, a good worthwhile writer will raise your costs too high for you to make anything worthwhile at the end of the month.

If you cant find the time for the blog....

Such a great answer. Face it .. $0.01 per word writers are not going to get you the quality you want in something with your name on it. Promoting content from quality writers is the best way to make sure you get your money from the better content.

You could definitely hire people here on WF or on Fiverr to write an article or two per week. Just make sure these articles are shared on Facebook, Twitter, and G+ at a minimum. You could also sign up for JustRetweet for some extra promotion of these articles to help boost the search ranking to get you more visitors overall.

I'd suggest building a contact list directly on the blog to keep those visitors coming back and consistently exposed to your business via email marketing.

You nailed it. The content must be VERY GOOD to do you much good. Also, make sure to capture your leads with an autoresponder sign-up form, and follow up with them by sending a series of high quality/content and friendly email messages.

having a blog is all about having quality content.. if you have the budget, then hiring a writer is the way to go. But as mentioned, do remember to check his/her work first before hiring.

Good content on blog helps. I know it from experience. However, the results may not be immediate unless you have a big advertising budget. Keep posting great content regularly and clicks are going to come. Do a bit of Social marketing on networking sites as well.

Yes, I'm sure there is AndyLaws. One technique is to go to ezinearticle sites, just go to features authors and look to those who write about your niche. Read their articles about it and If you are satisfied you can hire them.

Either hire someone whom you trust, someone who periodically posts to your blog. But overall quality is way more important than quantity...

And use a commenting system. People should comment, that adds more interaction, freshness...

A pause of even a few weeks shouldn't count too much in the SERPs.

I disagree re the pause ... as a (now) experienced blogger I can tell you if you paused for a few weeks your Google traffic would drop off the cliff! You need to post at least once (better twice) a week. When I started my blog I posted 5/6 times a week and my blog now has 6000 visitors/month (after only 5 months).

Just a tip for when anyone is hiring a freelance content writer. You're probably going to need to go through at least 4/5 writers before you find one that is a good fit for you.

The best stage to make a relationship with a writer is when they're new to the game. This is because they're not going to have many contacts and you can gain their services for cheaper.

However I have to stress good writers can be hard to find. So if you do come across someone at a cheap rate who has talent REWARD THEM. Give them bonuses, even pay them at a higher rate. Because this will create loyalty towards you and you'll always be at the top of their list.

It involves a bit of trial and error but you can find good writers for cheap!

Blogging is incredibly easy, but you have to stay on top of it everyday with marketing and responding to comments. Promote adsense, affiliate products, or even your own products to make money from it.

Managing a blog is not that easy, for it needs to be nurtured regularly. As they have suggested, you can hire quality writers for your blog. But you could not just let them do the work. You will also need to maintain the promotion cycle to successfully reach your goal visitors. A lot of promotion and more of quality contents.

If you want to make money by using blogs, give yourself a time for blogging. It'll be a big help if you hire a content writer who will write for you. For the mean time, post at least two articles for your blog then submit it to social bookmarking sites and reputable directory. There will be a good traffic only if you had created a good content.

I started a weight loss blog in June of this year and its now up to 6000 visitors /month and is making a good income from sponsored posts - not Adsense - Adsense doesn't really work well for blogs because most blogs are homepage biased. The key is good content and good links. The links come from getting involved in the blogging community - for instance I am a Mumsnet blogger.

yes, if money is a concern then I recommend getting articles rewritten rather then from scratch that way you'll be able to save a lot of money and still have great unique content.
