Taking it to the next level..Need Help

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get my site to the next level. It's 2 years old and I make between 1 and 5 sales a month that equats to $10-$50/mt. I was getting between 150 and 250 visitors per day but earlier this week I saw a drop by almost 50%. I figure it was another google burp. All my content is orginal and I just started building a list 2 months ago but have only seen 8 people sign up so far, I have tweeked my opt in form several times. My main focus of traffic generation since panda is article syndication but actual traffic is still coming from search engines. I want to take it to the next level and for me that is 1-5 sales per day. Please help!

This is a great website, you just need more targeted traffic. There are lots of ways to doing this, for example, you can exchange links with some other related websites, you can be active in some forums in your niche, make some videos and upload them on video sharing websites, use social media and make a facebook page. After you start making some more money, you could buy targeted facebook traffic and use PPV networks to target your keywords and related URLs.

Run through the tweaks you say you did. May be one of those that resulted in a loss for you. Just a suggestion. I've done this before - wanting to get more and faster, i ended up tweaking and had to start from scratch again.

    Good luck to you.

Well you have a couple options, more traffic or higher conversions. I would first focus on increasing conversion rate because as of right now you're converting 1-5 sales in 6000 visitors... not very good, especially if they're targeted.

I was just reading an article on how page load speed can affect conversion rate, and how one company increased their page load speed by half a second and conversions went up 30% - People are impatient and click away very quickly.

Also I went to the site, where exactly are you selling, through the banner ads? Your email list? Having more prominent links can be huge.

It looks like you are generating decent traffic, why can't you ramp up and scale those traffic generating methods. More traffic and more conversions.

Delve into your Analytics, find what pages are sticky, where people are leaving, what converts, what doesn't convert - setup goals and track them obsessively to optimize. Split test ad placements and monitor CTR, be diligent and track everything and you can increase CTR and traffic.

First thing I noticed is the long long long Optin bait.

I would try shrinking that right away!

The optin should really be "above the fold" meaning the optin form should be like 75% higher on the screen. You can easily accomplish that by shrinking your optin headline.

I would personally try this: "Learn how to install any blind effortlessly in 2 minutes any time using tools you already have!"

Good advice, definitely move your opt-in above the fold and make it less intrusive. It comes off as a little spammy how it's placed now

most sales come through affilated links in articles then a close second is banner add at top.

That's a good suggestion, any others (The fish are not biting , maybe time for new bait).

I will shrink it but does it look spammy because of placement or content?

Thanks for all your advice. I scrunk down and changed my opt in form last night, no one has opt-in so far...do you think it's compelling? How many opt ins per day would you like to see to consider it successful? I also identified 1 article that has out sold all others by 2-1. I was going to include it in my popular posts in sidebar to give it more exposure. Banner at top was 2nd best source of income but lately for some reason it's stop producing. Ant other suggestions on converting.

    1) you need to split test and use A test and B test, there will be a difference in your sales. Then just keep using the one that outpulls. You could even try to make that better. ..

    2) test prices. You would be surprised, that sometimes I test price and increase prices, my sales go down, but profits go up. **winks** but you could test this, to see what works....I like using 7's and 9's at the end of the prices.

    3) you need a CHITload more traffic, try PPC, banner ads, and always be reinvesting your profits into traffic. Try and test different means. No one will get rich by using FREE traffic. We always reinvest big profits back into PPC and it works wonders. If You handed me $1 and I gave you back $2 ...how many times would you give me that $1.... that is how we see PPC....

Once you have a winning system, you outsource and upscale. Take yourself out of the business so you can work on your business. Remember you are a marketer first, not a seller of products or information. Never forget that.

    Hope this helps.
