How Do You Set Up A Download Link With Paypal?

Hello Warriors,

I have created a download page for customers, but I need some help in setting it up with Paypal.

Does anyone know how to set up a link in Paypal, so that when someone hits the "buy now" button and pays, they are redirected to the download link?

Any help greatly appreciated.

    When you setup your link in paypal, under advanced options there is an option to redirect to a page after payment is complete, there you can setup your download.

    This is actually not the best way to do it. Your download page will be open, and word of it will be passed on. Soon you'll see only downloads, but no sales. I made a software program once, about 12 years ago. When Warez sites listed the program, sales numbers dropped ten times.

    You need to have an online store that would handle the order, communicate with PayPal, and when PayPal API sends back "all clear", would give your customer a special download link that could be used only 1.) 1-2 times 2.) from 1-2 IP addresses 3.) During a specific time period (1-3 days).

      Kindly I would like to suggest that you look at alternatives to PayPal because with them the money can be pulled right back out of your account at any time for any reason. I'm in the process of taking all PayPal off my sites. There is a WF thread about it but WF won’t let me link it yet. Search "PayPal Alternatives".

    I would highly suggest not using PayPal directly, but upload your product to JVZoo. This way, you can have the product delivery secured.

    I do this for all my products and it's up to you whether or not you want to have affiliates as well. Of course I suggest it, but the main benefit is having a secure product delivery that is much easier to set up than through Paypal. Plus the buy now buttons are better through JVZoo.

    I only use PayPal direct if I will create a special sale for a weekend or a week only, because people love to share download pages or Google index it in a few days.

    Use some digital delivery product as DLGuard, Nanacast, ejunkie if you want to sell indefinitely.

      I suggest your own download page with some form of security(as mentioned above). The download page is an excellent place to offer more products and if you have no control of it, you can't utilize this powerful resource.

    You can also use products like DAP (digital access pass) and there was also a warrior who wrote DLGuard to protect downloads.
