Are there any fool-proof step-by-step guides on how to transfer a Wordpress blog to another host? Everything I can find is a bit vague... |

Actually it is just the same way you move any type of website - backup all your files from the server and upload everything to your new server. For Wordpress, don't forget to set the CHMOD for the upload folder and the config file to 777. Go to PHPMyadmin and backup your database. Import it to the PHPMyadmin on the new server. Point the domain to the new server and you are set. It usually takes up to 24 hours to spread the new domain DNS over the internet so it might be a good idea to disable the comments and don't post anything new for the 24 hours to prevent data loss. |

Export database to a export file Copy all the wordpress files (directory structure, themes, plugins, etc.) Put in to the new host, the copied files import data from step one. |
