Money but no heart in the business?

I recently created a site for a guy who claimed to own a product (Awesome product) but apparently it was being drop shipped (And anyone can do it after paying a private label fee).

However, no one selling such a quality product, we made our first sale within 30 days of just basic SEO (I am good at what I do heheh)

So after realizing that I don't need the guy for the product, I created a new brand and again started selling the product. We departed our separate ways.

Sales are slow due to brand change but they are coming back up.

My thing is this . . .

Product works, it's unique, people want to buy it and the profit is at 100%.

Market is easy to penetrate as well.

However, my heart and soul is not in it anymore . . . As I have NO KNOWLEDGE on the product or the market.

Honestly, no interest in learning about the market on my own rather have someone tell me about it (I wish the original partner of mine was good at this too but not really.

My thing is I like marketing for people who know their product.

Although I know whoever sticks with this site long enough 6-12 months would be reaping in some crazy rewards, I don't have the heart to do that.

Has this ever happened to you?

Good product, making money, just need to grow it but your heart is not in it?

I'm thinking might as well flip the site on flippa and move on with new projects.

What do you guys think?

Interesting post. As someone new to the area it sounds like a problem I wish I had LOL, but yes I can see where you're coming from. If you're totally not interested in something it's going to be hard to enojy working on it.

That's the thing. I don't how successful you are online (At least with your own websites) but I know people keep saying that 'STICKING' with something is what brings in the real results.

However, you are right I feel like I'm bored for sure.

I am awesome at creating high converting and high traffic websites for others but not for myself (Mostly because I am not passionate about the product. Plus this one is actually making money right off the bat).

I am trying to be more 'logical' and stick it out so to speak but I feel success shouldn't be something you should 'try' for. It should come naturally.

Hmmmmm I really hope someone on here with perhaps more experience can resolve this for me (I am sure it will help others here as well).

I have a problem walking away from anything that is bringing in revenue. I'm kinda in this game to make money after all. I guess when I lose the heart to make money, I will be dead.

Hmmmm congratulations on finding out what really matters to you. I think that is what I'am looking for at the moment. I like making money but if I can do it through something that really fires my rocket, I would be making a whole lot of it with fun, ease and enjoyment.

So this is a hobby for you.

It's great to do what you love. What I love is sitting by the river without a care in the world. And I can do that because I make money in my business, because after all, that's what a business is for.

            Good luck with your hobby.

No, you are wrong there. Successful people are TRYING day and night to stay and be even more successful.

Yes that makes sense but are they trying on things that they lose interest in or not really enjoy? What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for sharing.

    You can either:

    A) outsource the day to day on the site.
    B) get it to a certain level, then sell so you aren't boring yourself anymore.

Either way, you shouldn't just walk away from something that has potential. Why not do a JV with someone who has interest and negotiate a finders fee for yourself.

Very good advice here. It definitely has potential. Almost explosive so I'm sticking around at the moment. Buddy of mine will be running a test on his list of few thousand people, if it goes well, I'll keep growing it or Warrior Forum Classified it is.

What I love is sitting by the river without a care in the world.
That must be an INCREDIBLE feeling. Congratulations on your success. I think I see your 'mindset'. Thanks a lot for sharing.

      The first D is decision
      Definitely

ME: Site is making money? WTF? Ok scale it and saturate the markets until it breaks!
BORED ME: uhhgg, so much work, so boring.
WIFE TALKING TO ME IN MY HEAD: Get your @ss on the CPU!
      BUSINESS ME: Awesommmmmmmmmmmmmme!!!!!!!
Got it! The market is VERY promising. Especially if i stick it out for the long run.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm wondering about this whole story.

*You advertised for a JV a while back - wanting to promote someone's product in a partnership. The other person would provide the product and your contribution would be promotion.

*In this thread you say you built a site and promoted with a "partner" - but then realized you didn't need the partner so you started selling this re-labeled product on your own to keep all the money.

      Are those two things related?
      Sent you a PM

I suggest follow what your heart is telling you -- flip it on flippa or sell it here at the Warrior Classifieds. No point forcing yourself keeping something if your heart is not in it.

Maybe you should find a partner that you can really work with? Someone with an interest in and passion for your niche/product?

    Just curious, what's the niche?

What's the industry of this website as someone on here might be interested or might know someone who is interested?

There's an old saying its called the 4 D's. It goes like this.

The first D is decision - make up your mind to do something. Once you have made your decision the next D "desire" will come to you but not until the first D is firmly embedded in your mind. After desire comes details this is the necessary steps you need to take and these will also come to you automatically once the 2nd D is firmly in place. Lastly the 4th D is deliverance and the word here is used like you have been delivered from an illness or in other words success.

But it all starts with the first D "decision" but many people dont understand this principle and think that the 2nd or 3rd D need to come first. When they do this they disrupt the natural order and make things much more complicated than they need to be.
